I've always been frugal. I still save foil and use it as a brillo pad..works just as great getting the burnt on crap on my glass baking dishes.
I am a coupon whore, kind of physco about it lol Last night I bought $428.17 worth of food,my OOP (out of pocket) $17.43 been doing it for years so I'm semi-pro lol Being a single mom, I had to learn to make my money go as far as I can ge it to go.
I recycle what I can.
I could write a book lol

im very cheap at times-i live by myself,so it can get hard running my house-i trade alot of things for dog food coupons and dog food treats-i buy banquet dinners for myself, which has meat-potatoes and a veggy-i put a little water in the shampoo bottle and the dishsoap-i save some condiments when i go out, cause its cheaper then buying them(most the time i have to throw it away if i buy it).i just empty my trash bag outside in the big trashcan, and if the bags not dirty i reuse it-i never wash ziplocks,or any baggies, cause you can get them at a dollar store for a buck-so i guess in some ways i am cheap-but i can buy what i want if i need to-cause i have been a pennypincher-i see nothing wrong with reusing things if at all possible. but not using food off of anyones plate/thats just nasty!!

This is what I want to be able to do, I don't even know where to start. I hear about so many people using coupons like this but it just mystifies me as to how they do it. Is there a web site that offers advice?

This is SO what I want to do...it's my ultimate goal! did your store double your coupons? Mine doesn't..the most I have saved so far is about 35 dollars//which I was happy about no doubt, but your amount..wow! that's awesome, way to go!

Well this year I recycled the birthday card for my hubby. I used one I had given him before but after seventeen years and dating for three I have a huge stack of cards for both of us.
I am tired of paying up to 5 dollars for a greeting card so now I told him we can use the cards we already have. LOL
I also put a check for a million dollars in it from Obama. It's from the give yourself a bail out check site. I never got the one I sent through email so I printed it off the site and filled it out myself.

I've been couponing and refunding since the '80s. Yes, I used to save labels, UPCs etc. Peeled them so thin that I could file them in boxes in the attic. Hey, ya never knew when Nabisco, DelMonte or Planters might pay you 10.00 for labels and a simple form. I went to meetings to trade rebate forms etc.
The savings are great, but the challenge is the ULTIMATE!!

Some stores triple the value of coupons on certain days and if you combine that with sale items you can get them free or near free. Coupons can be found in lots of places or wine tags that don't require a wine purchase. Ebay has an active coupon trade and there are bunches of coupon services that you can get the specific coupons you need.

I am also a coupon maniac, I can out of pocket next to nothing.
I also make my own laundry detergent, window wash, dryer sheets, dish soap and body soaps, swiffer refill soap and thier pads..it is fun to do and it keeps me busy especially during a COLD Minnesota Saturday and my pocket book happier.
I plan on a much bigger garden and have collected supplies for canning.
I buy alot in bulk and share the with my sister, andthe reynolds freezer cry-vac system was so worth when it was $4.00 with the coupon, though I don't reuse baggies of any kind.
So YES I am in the FRUGAL CLUB... !

It actually is a good idea, just didn't think so back then.
Now, I tear up food boxes like cereal boxes and such before putting them in the trash and I tear up the paper before throwing it in the trash. This takes up so much less space that you wouldn't believe it, which means you use fewer trash bags.

You don't recycle your paper?
