I like to make my version of Steak Diane. Brown the steak in a dutch oven or large skillet. Then add 8oz tomato sauce, 1 tomato can water, 1 15oz can green beans, 1 lrg can whole potatoes. Season to taste and bring to a boil then simmer on low heat with a lid until the meat is tender. You can use fresh beans and potatoes or any combination of veggies you want or have. The tomato sauce is acidic and makes the meat tender.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused.

Thank you for the reply's about this, I had told a lady I work with I would ask around and see what other people do. She buys the cheaper cuts and was wondering how to get them tender. I will let her know all your reply's.

I use to take a round steak and brown it lightly, add a large can of stewed tomatoes, and strips of green pepper and let it simmer for 1/2 hour...was super tender and great.
