    rice cooker

My daughter gave me a rice cooker for Christmas. I think I am the only person in the world who has trouble cooking rice in a pot. Anyway I love it.
But it takes up a lot of space on the cabinet top, it is big. If I put it under the counter it will wind up not getting used much. Anyone have a rice cooker who has found other things to do with it? Spagetti? anything? thanks

The one you pointed me to is a little too expensive for my blood but there were 3 others named I will check into.

    This product
Rice Cooker Creations: 40 Simple Recipes by Jayne E. Chang (Paperback - August 1, 2007)
    Used & New from: $99.99

    3 used & new from $99.99

I will check out the others. Thank you so much. I never even thought about going to google, some people are just so resourceful. Thanks.

It's a Google Book so I normally print the recipes I want and put them in a binder. Way cheaper than buying the book.

I have never understood why people have such a hard time cooking rice. I cook mine in the microwave, using this foolproof method. I put 1 cup of rice (not instant) & 2 cups of water in a glass 2 quart bowl (can use any microwave safe bowl). Cover and place in the microwave and cook for 5 minutes. When it shuts off I set it for 15 minutes and put it on 50% power. When it shuts off the rice is done. Fluff with a fork and serve. It's so easy. Even cooking on a stove top is easy. Put 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water in a pan, bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 20 mins. Don't keep peeking to see if it is done, just let it simmer for 20 mins. I have no idea about the rice cooker, I have never owned one.

I recently bought a rice cooker because I was cooking a lot of rice. I HATE it. I must be the only one who cant cook rice in the cooker but yet when I do it the "old fashioned" way (on the stove), it comes out perfect every time!!!!!! LOL I have steamed veggies in it but thats about it.

Have yall heard of a fuzzy logic rice cooker? One of the cook books I was looking at kept referring to a fuzzy logic rice cooker.
