Need opinions...
I'm getting a new laptop and I'm really considering an Apple MacBook Pro. I was wondering if anyone has one and what they think of it. I've always used Windows based computers in the past and I'm to the point I want to try something new. I just want to make sure that the mac is worth the money.

I have had my Macbook Pro for about 4 months now. First Mac I have ever had and I love it!! I will never go back to Windows totally again. Some things were hard to get used to but you get used to them quickly.
I also have Windows on a small partition of my hard drive. I need it for Quick books cause I don't like the Quick Books for Mac. But I really hate having to go over to that partition to use the Windows.

As long as all the programs you need work on a Mac it is a personal preference at that point. They do have MS Office for Mac but it is pricey - then again any MS product is pricey.

when I get a laptop it's going to be a Mac as well. From what I've read most ppl who have apples love them. Plus you don't have all the virus risks (from what I understand anyways) as windows based computers. I hardly doubt that you'll regret getting one and would say go for it, personally I'm not even looking at windows based comps for mine.

Well I know everyone else is saying such nice things about the macbook but we just got the black one (step below a pro) and I don't like it.
If you've used windows all your life, I really wouldn't recommend getting a mac because the setup is a lot different. I am still trying to get used to it and I am only doing an "okay" job because we have the ipod touch so I have been playing with that for a little while.
But so far there is no "word" or anything of any kind installed on the computer where you can type documents..which seems crazy to me. It won't print any coupons for me...which is driving me NUTS! And I feel almost stupid when I try to use this thing. Everything is so foreign to me.
I am not trying to say macbooks are terrible so please no counter-arguments...I am just trying to say that you mentioned your not up to learn something new so personally, I don't think a macbook would be for you.

I have used Macs all my life-even with my job so I am partial. LOL

I use Open Office on my MacBook Pro. This is a free program, works a little different than MS Office but totally compatible with it, which means that anything you do opens in MS Office.

Thanks everyone. I'm leaning towards the macbook pro. Over all I've heard alot of good things about it. I really appreciate everyone's opinions.
