Why not? My daughter is 4 and very independent. She's too big for her stroller and we go to alot of museuems, science centers, etc. It's very easy for her to walk away because something catches her eye. She doesn't do it very often but in large crowds, I would feel better knowing she can't go far without it beeping.

I have one that is almost 3 and it would be wonderful for me. We go to school to pick up my oldest and she likes to walk around the lobby and see the other children. It would help me, to let me know if she went to far.
She is very independent also and doesnt even want you to help her in her carseat. LOL

if your child wanders away or hides; press the button on the fob.

It doesnt go off if they're a certain distance away but if you turn to grab something out of your bag and look back and they're gone, you can hit the button and know where they are.

I think this thing is amazing.

wow what a neat little gadget , wish they would've had something like that when my sons were little. they liked to hide in the clothes in the stores at times..lol

i used that lil clapper keychain when mine were little, lol I'd hook it up on their back pant loop or something and clap. lol i figured if it could locate my keys 3 rooms away it'd work for them.. helped me find my middle son in walmart when he decided he wanted to look at the toys. lol

Sorry, I confused with a different one I was looking at. There is one that gives warning beeps if it gets too far from the monitor. It's pricey though!
