I used to. I loved it. 10pm - 7am. I'd be in bed by 9am., sleep 'til 5 and have a full day, shop, go out, eat, etc.. then go to work @ 10. I really miss watching the sunrise.

I work from 9p.m. to 7a.m. i'm usually in bed around 830 up by 2p.m. I really don't have a life after 58 hrs a wk (8 on sat.) and trying to take care of house and kids. But afterall i'm fortunate enough to have a really good paying job so i can't complain.

I use to work 3rd shift & it wasn't too bad. I can sleep at any time of day as long as I leave the TV on! When I was on a normal 3rd shift schedule I would come home, grab a beer & wave to the neighbors as they were going to work! They all knew I worked strange hours & would get a kick out of seeing doing yard work & drinking as the sun came up!

Now, I had a 9:00 PM- 5:30 AM shift that totally stank. I was so lonely because I could not stay awake to see the hubby. I had Tuesdays off & one other day off during the week that changed monthly. It was a very physical job & it totally killed me. I hated that warehouse job except for one thing, I got to work in a 34 degree cooler & that was great!

I worked it for years and years,,,

I would work 10pm-6am, or 11p-7a, then i'd come home do everythingi needed to do and lay down about 2 or 3 in the after noon..

think about it,, most people. get up, go to work, come home stay up a while then go to bed.. I found if i did it the same way, no matter what shift i'm on, I was never really tired and as much more refreshed to go to work.

My husband does and we all hate it. Over the years the hours have gotten worse. Now he goes in by 4pm and gets off around 7am the next morning. Goes straight to bed/sleep and gets up around 2pm. That gives him about an hour before having to get ready for work and leave.
The weekends are still crazy because his body is stuck on being awake at night and sleeping all day while we are the opposite.

I use to and I hated it. I just couldnt get use to it. I did kind of like being up and about when I got home at 8am. But I could never fall asleep when I was supposed to.

I worked a 3rd shift from 11 pm to 7 am, came home and stayed up for about an hour to unwind then went to bed and slept until about 1 or 2, hated it during the summer when the kids were out of school, the playground was right next to my apt building, hard to sleep with screaming kids everywhere..

I do what they call swing shift and I do 2 days of 11-7 and 2 weeks I do 3 days of the 119m -7am and those are the days it is hardest for me. I dread those weeks when I have to work the 3 days of third it is harder when school session because I come home and get done what I need to around the house and I sometimes only get about 4 hours of sleep before my DD gets home and then it is supper time the homework or after school stuff that she needs to do. I dont know if it would be easier if I didnt have a child probally not. I just find it is my most draining shift and I work all 3.

    I work 7p to 7a (12 hour shifts) 3 to 4 nights a week.
The 4th night is optional and overtime.

I leave for work at 6p, and make it home about 8a.
I sleep from 9a to about 2pm if I am lucky. If my daughter is home (and husband has to work) I stay up all day.

I have a life... I force myself to stay awake so I can be with my family.

And if I schedule it right (yes, we pick our own schedules: must work 4 weekend shifts a month is the only requirement).... I can work Thursday through Wednesday morning and meet 3 weekend shifts that way, and not return to work for 9 days! And not miss a single required minute!
