Thread: Need help converting Outlook to Thunderbird

Good morning!

Can anyone out there who uses Mozilla Thunderbird give me detailed instructions on how to transfer mail from Outlook to Thunderbird when they aren't on the same computer? Everytime I look it up on the internet, it assumes you have Outlook and Thunderbird on the SAME computer and at work, I'm switching from using email on the server to using it on my own machine. Due to the unstability of the server (hence why we are switching), they've asked us not to download any large applications.

So I guess I need to know how I can switch without having to install Thunderbird on the server. Even if I installed Thunderbird on the server (if there is no other way), then which files do I take from the Thunderbird profile to transfer them to my local desktop?

If anyone could help with step-by-step instructions, I'd really appreciate it!! I'm afraid of trying something on my own in fear that I'm going to lose MONTHS worth of email.
