What do you do with prizes you've won that you don't need?

I enter the contests listed here in the forum every now and then and a year ago, I think I won second place in a contest I didn't even remember from about seven months prior. I won a set of Disney Bobblehead dolls (12) in a custom carrying case.

It's very cute and in mint condition, but I really have no need for it. I checked Ebay and there is nothing similar to it online. What do you guys do when you win things that you don't necessarily need? Think Ebay is the best way to go? I've never sold on Ebay before and not sure how they take their money, and how to sell through Paypal, so I was just wondering if there were any other options out there. Making a little cash would be great, as I haven't started my new job yet.

Let me know if you have other suggestions!

I win a lot of stuff... any gift cards I can't use, I have sold here @ BBS (I still have bunches to post...)

As far as gifts, I give some away... I also have two BIG yard sales a year, and sell tons of stuff I get free or nearly free via great deals I get online, contest wins etc... we average $400 each yard sale... for two 6 hour days. Not bad for FREE income. It's enough to pay our car insurance for a year for full coverage on two vehicles...lol

Oh, and that doesn't include what I sell in gift cards. I have over $1000 in cards to sell right now.

I only enter contests that I will appreciate the prize. If I was hoping for another prize and ended up w/ like cups (coors) I give them away. Generally the contests I enter I use or enjoy the prizes I win.

Well yea, me too... but, so many times the contests have some stuff to win that you really want or could use, and mixed in with that are things you would or could never use. I won a PS2 last year, and, I already have one...lol, I was actually entering for the other prizes.

I give away tons of stuff too... family, neighborhood kids etc... I always have 'goody bags' for them.

I say if you entered the contest in hopes of winning one of the other prizes, i'd try selling it on here, just be honest about it. If you just entered the contest to try and win something, i'd give it to a family member.

I'm new here but reading around some of the posts.

If you don't know what to do with items you won't or can't use you can check into joining a group called Freecycle, I believe their website is freecycle.org.

they have local chapters almost everywhere, you just post the item up for offer to people in your local area. It's a great place to get stuff too LOL

Re-gift, sale or just give away to someone.
