    Question about those feather pillows...

As I read the pillow thread I noticed alot of you use feather pillows..my question is this ...are they reeally comfy? I remember my grandmom use to have one when I was little and when I slept over her house the feathers would poke out of the pillow..ouch ..so I would pull them out lol.Anyway I go through alot of regular pillows~they flatten out and I cant get them all fluffed up again. So I was wondering what the feather pillows were like and how much they usually cost...Let me know what you all think of them
    Thanks everyone!

I got mine at overstock.com .... I absolutely love them! They were 19.99 for two I believe ... the feathers don't poke out of them and they fluff right up!

Whatever kind you get, you want to make sure they are good quality.

I once bought some feather pillows off of HSN, and those things had feathers all over the place. Everytime I turned around I was finding feathers. And they scratch your face with the quills when they poke through at night.

Pure goose down is super soft and they are really fluffy. The ones I got were on clearance for $35.00 each. But the regular price was around $175.00 each.

I've always just washed mine in the machine. They take forever to dry though. I keep zip up pillow covers & a pillow case over mine. So they have extra protection. So that way I just wash the covers & the case when I change linens. And I only wash the actual pillow maybe once a year. And I always spray them and the mattress with Lysol in between linen changes.

I got mine at Overstock also but didnt get as good a deal as mamalamas did. Don't remember for sure how much they were but they are awesome. As they said, good quality, real down, is the key. ( I remember as a kid the "pokey" feather pillows lol) I also got a wonderful down comforter thru Overstock that I LOVE. It was $400 and I got it for $130. I take care of my pillows just as Kyla does. keep zippered covers on them which I wash regularly and wash the pillows about once a year.

I paid about 35.00 a piece for mine too and I do not wash them. I got two sets of nice zippered covers for them and I just wash those occasionally.

    I love my down pillows!

i got mine from Anna's Linens for a really good price.(5.99 I think) That was like 3 years ago and I still love it. No one ever gets to use my pillow I throw mine in the washing machine as well. I don't think I've ever had a feather poke out...

I can't use them - too allergic - I would be up all night sneezing and my eyes swelling shut.

Yes, What KK said, is what I do also.. they do take forever to dry. I have feather pillows that I use that my father had and he has been gone since 91'
I tried others and can't stand them. Actually, never in my whole life have I had anything else. They last forever. We had feather beds growing up to, and it wasnt til I was married that I slept on serta. I haven't sleep as good as I did as when I was a kid.
