Need birthday ideas for 11 year old boy..

My son turns 11 next month. Each year I have been having his party at a local park~its always worked out great.I usually bbq and bring lots of things to do like badmitton, volleyball, frisbee etc. However the problem is now that hes getting a little older and we have been using this park for so long I need some fresh ideas to keep it fun.I'm afraid he will get bored with the same stuff...I know I am.My house isnt big enough to hold many people and finances are tight so having it outside like this has always been great.Does anyone have some neat fun ideas for an 11 year old boys birthday.I would looove to do water stuff..but theres no faucet at this park~atleast not one for public use.I thought about a pinata but I'm thinking he may be too old for that.He even suggested some kind of treasure hunt but not sure how to put that together...if you guys have any cool inexpensive ideas for his party I would be sooo grateful!!!! Its not untill later next month but I need to get a plan going here. Thanks again everyone!

I may go with the water balloons~the clean up will take forever though...picking up all those little pices of a zillion balloons.Because of it being at a public park where animals and little kids are always there I couldnt leave the broken balloons all over. Its a choking hazard for sure!Thanks..I'm taking note of all the ideas so far...keep them coming please!!!

you could do a pinata! let him pick out! You tell me what 11 year old boy doesn't want to whack at something with a stick and get away with doing it! and get some candy in the process......
you could also do a scavenger hunt. Set up little clues and prizes! That is always so much fun! plus it gets their lil brains working too to figure out the clues.
you could also, depending on how many kids are going, do a Birthday version of "dirty santa" just go to the dollar store and buy gifts for the kids and have them play it. Just this way around with the birthday twist. Buy stuff like pencils, marbles, soap and paper, or stuff that they would normally need for school or do the toys that they offer there. Make it your own.

Makes me wish I was doing my sons b-days, but they are again until Feb. and May! I know my 14 year old nephew would love to whack a pinata!- lol
    Good Luck!

lol ok I thought most families did dirty santa and its not an "adult" game.
What happens is you supply say 15 presents for the 10 kids. and put them in a pile. All being different sizes and shapes and all wrapped. The kids will draw numbers 1-10 to see who gets to choose a gift first. The first person (#1) gets to choose a gift and they get to open the gift for all to see. Here is where is start to get interesting. Person #2 chooses a present and then deciedes on whether they are going to take person #1's gift or open the gift they chose. Now if person #1's gift is taken by person #2 they have to give Person #1 the gift they picked. This continues down the line. Anyone can take anyones gift and replace it with another that is un-opened. Until person number 10 is done. When person #10 is finished. Person #1 gets to chose to keep the gift they have or take anyones present for their own or choose a new one from the pile and give theirs up. If person #1 choses to take someone else's they have to give the gift they already have to that person. and if they chose a gift from the pile, they just put their gift back in the pile. It is always best to be the last or first person in this game- lol!
It is lots of fun! I hope I explained it correctly. I was new to this game about 3 years ago when I met hubby's family for the first time at christmas, and I was just shocked when his cousin walked over and took my gift! I just about died! But It was fun because I ended up having the best gift and I took it from Granny! -lol but my Girlfriend said she did this for her sons birthday party as a game and the kids loved it, because she bought soap and candle holders, and a package of combs and hair gel...and other silly things too.
I am going to do this with my boys's birthdays when they come around again!

If your son has a couple of different remote controlled cars that are close to the same size, you could race them. We did this at my son's last birthday party and they loved it. You could take a stick and draw a track in the dirt. Put two people head to head on the track. The winner keeps racing until he loses.

Another fun idea is the ring toss game. Buy a few 2 liter sodas and a pack of glow sticks from the dollar store. Connect the glow sticks end to end so that they form rings. Set up the soda's and let them toss the glow sticks to try and ring the top of the soda bottle.

I was thinking like a "Fear Factor" party. You can get away fairly cheap, or pretty expensive, its up to you.

1, you can take somethings from home and to obsticle courses, around tables under ropes.

    2. we done a doggie bone race. I took doggie biscuits and put them in tin pans, and covered them in potted meat, and told them it was dog food, and they had to grab the biscuits one at at time with thier mouths and doggie crawl to the other pan and transfer them, and see who could do like 5 the fastest. the pans were like 20-25 ft apart.

3, I took dixie cups and had each kid like 10 different cups, and had them eat things like raw fish(canned sardines) liver (brawnswager) vinegar, ketchup, cows blood(v8 splash). eyeballs, olives, mustard, hot sauce (choose one that wont set their mouths on fire), pickle juice. All kinds of different things See who could do it the fastest. OH, and I made real looking worms, I crushed up oreos and rolled them in honey and put them in the oreos. They looked so real some of the kids couldn't even eat the.The kids LOVED this. And for his b-day cake, I just had a dirt cake with gummy worms coming out all over it.

And another game I did, was bought a pack of diapers at Biglots that were really inexpensive, and had some chocolate pudding in them, and wrapped a piece of gum in a tootsie roll, If you microwave them a sec they soften a tad to wrap around the gum easily. But you put the gum wrapped in tootsie roll in the pudding in the diaper, and have them find the candy with their mouths. And get the gum out and the first to blow a bubble wins a prize. HINT, tell them to wrap the gum with their mouths and not chew it all together or it wont work right.

Instead of water ballons, go to the dollar store and get cheap squirt guns, Take a bucket for water refills and turn em loose. No little pieces to have to pick up.
