I have a friend in upstate NY and I just emailed her to ask how she is and how much snow...Heard on the news this morning they are expecting 8 feet of snow on the ground by Sun. Some buildings have collapsed from the weight of the snow on them. I remember Dad and my brother shoveling the roof in MI. Dad finally put in electric heat coils in the roof to help melt it.

Y'all be safe up there, and warm.

they basically closed most of our city down - the banks are closing - some of the stores- we just ran out to get some new belts for the snowblower and ended up going to 3 stores - cuz the first 2 we went to were closed -
then I made hubby stop at dunkin donuts to get me coffee - LOL -
but we are back now - roads are terrible - can't see 2 inches in front of your vehicle -
when we go out to snowblow later I will take pictures for you all to see -

I remember having this much snow in years back - but we never really got this much snow all at once - within 2 - 3 days........

Re: Hey New Yorkians........57 inches of snow..........

Snowfall downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario just seems to keep coming, with more than 6 feet accumulating. Impressive snow totals through this morning, including 72 inches in Mexico, N.Y.,

OMG I've never seen that much snow I lived in NYC and 2 feet of snow would cripple the city don't know how long it would take them to dig out of 6 feet. But I give the folks in Upstate NY alot of credit they can deal with any bad weather given to them.

we've seen alot of that in the middle of the roads lately - LOL

my sister lives up in Mexico New York - which is about 15 minutes North of where I am - and they were getting over 5 inches an hour last night -

I am just a hair south of Lake Ontario - just outside of Oswego New York -

it finally stopped right now but from the news it has moved down into Syracuse for a while before it heads back up this way.
