How do I get static out of fleece?

I've got a few articles of fleece clothing that I can't wear because the static cling is out of control! I've tried using dryer sheets, and the spray didn't work either. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

I found that if I don't dry my fleece stuff in the dryer, it helps keep the static down.

I don't know if it would work on fleece, but I read in a magazine that metal would help. I don't remember the exact wording. Anyway, I tested this theory with a pair of fancy pants I have by putting a large safety pin in the bottom of the pant leg before I hung it in the closet. When I went to wear it (not long later) it had no static at all in the pants. Yippee (the material would cling to your legs weird otherwise). Perhaps this works on any material?

Hairspray from an aresol (sp) can.

You can buy some stuff in a can called static guard. It's made for clothing.
It's also great if you get shocked by touching things. I have 2 file cabinets at work that I have to pass by all the time or open, and they shock me if I get near them. I started bringing my static guard to work and I spray the carpet in front of them and on my clothes...no more shocks!

I was going to suggest hairspray or static cling.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.

My poor cats get shocked everytime I pet them. Last night I was petting Salem in the bed and I actually saw a spark. LOL

I haven't tried this remedy yet but I have heard that gently rubbing a dryer sheet on the clothes would get rid of the static cling? Wouldn't hurt to try it?
