Something good happen to you?

Has anyone had something good happen to them this week? I watch the news and it is all about who killed who local news and then world news has war information. Can anyone tell us all something good that has happened to them this week or something funny that can make us all laugh?

I tend to have just as many bad things happen as I do good, but let's see. Good things that have happened so far this week:

Sunday - Had a baby shower that a lot of family attended...even some from 3 hours away. A good time was had by all.

Monday - Got to leave work early to go to a dr. appt. Was able to (sort of) see my baby on the ultrasound and see how much he weighs now. I also didn't gain anymore weight. Dh and I met the kids' teachers for this year and we were able to go out to eat at Red Lobster for dinner.

Even though I have a lot to be thankful for, nothing "good" has happened yet this week, but of course, it has just begun.

Now, I do have something good that is in the works. I am fixing to change jobs and it is a great opportunity. For those of you who do not know, I groom dogs for a living. Right now I work at a vet's office and the attitudes are so crappy it can't help but rub off on everyone. But, me and my friend (who is also a groomer) have been offered this opportunity.

We are getting to set up a shop of our own. The people that are footing the bills own a doggie gourmet shop and want to open a grooming shop with it. It is a perfect local and high end. I probably won't make much more than I do right now because the pricing will be about the same. But my friend will make more because the prices are higher than where she is now. So what is so great about the opportunity if I am not making more money? Well, we are getting to set the shop up the way we want and make all the rules. Basically, we are in charge! The owners know we know what we are talking about and trust us to do it right. They realize that we are taking a big chance right along with them because we are both leaving established shops and clientele.

It is kind of hard for someone that does not know the business to understand how exciting this is for us. We are both "scared" of the change, but then we are so excited about it too. We know that the shop is going to be a success and we have worked together before and look forward to doing so again. We both have the same attitudes toward our jobs and neither one of us has the "prima donna" groomer attitude. It is not easy working with another groomer. We are setting up our shop toward being exclusive so we can be choosier in the dogs that we groom. This means that we won't have to do the once a year grooms or the back yard dog (those are the ones that get groomed and then taken home and thrown back outside until they get totally matted again). We are aiming for clientele that bring their dogs on a regular basis.

So, the day after Labor Day we open for business. We are busy at our present jobs and also getting things organized for the new place. Making sure everything is set up right, necessary supplies are ordered and all the i's are dotted.

Since this is what is in the works, you could say this is something good that is happening.

My hubbys Brain Catscan came back clean. We were worried it was a Tumor or stroke.

I was very happy that everything was ok with him.

Well , lets see.. Hubby got a big bonus out of the blue. (On Friday) We were getting the usual stuff at a certain store that none of you like..LOL... ,and I walked over to look at the jewerly and said that I liked a certain pair of earrings, and I said if I got them I would buy the yellow gold, ones. And when we were getting in the car my wonderful hubby handed me a box!!!(( He had already bought them when I was getting dog food.(The exact ones that I liked!!) BEFORE I even walked to look at the jewerly. He said man what are you Psychic??? So that was my good thing......whose next?

The Lord woke my family all up this morning for a brand new day. I consider that a very good thing.

My son got tested for his Green Belt in Karate. While he was testing the Intrucster had my son stand up and do all is moves over because the instructer wanted to show the Black Belts how good he is. The Black Belts said he is "Awsome" and they feel my son is going to be kicking their butts way before my son is Black Belt.

Sweetie put my queen size bed together and getting it ready to install other entertainment components in my bedroom. O happy day.
