Thread: Please Read....

I want to say I am sorry for not being around much. I have been keeping myself busy creating and selling digital scrapbook supplies, and spending time with family.

I am in need of some assistance for those who could maybe help.

My boyfriend is going through alot of trouble right now...and will be going through a custody battle. If you can please please pray for him and his son so that he can keep custody of him. He is a good man and deserves custody of his son. The mother of the child is not fit to take care of him. She is mentally ill, but her family is fighting Jay (my boyfriend) to try and take his son from him.

He doesnt have the funds to pay for this, and I dont either...the Lawyer is charging him $2500 plus $200/hr for research they need to do. And at this point has no way to pay for it. I have tried to think of ways to raise money for him and just cant think of any way. So along with worrying about losing his son he is worried about how to be able to pay for all this along with keep up with his bills etc for his home.

So please help keep them in your prayers or thoughts!

See if he can get a lawyer through the Family Court system, and get the child a Law Gaurdian, to help the child. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Valena. The Law Guardian that she is talking about is an attorney who is appointed to serve as a "protector" of the best interests of the child. If the mother is involved with drugs a random drug test can be requested or if she has a police record (especially recent) that could be brought up. Maybe I'm blind or just stupid but I don't get the impression she is asking for money. I see her asking for prayers and advice, nothing more. Maybe its just in the way I'm reading it.
I would definitely check into the Law Guardian. I don't have much for advice but can send lotsa hugs and I will keep you guys in my thoughts.

can raise money by liquidating personal belongings and sell on ebay or yard sale, borrow from family or friends, pick up a second or third job, do yard work or do whatever regular job is on the side. p.s~it's very hard to take a child from it's mother unless you can prove her unfit or unless the father is wealthy. mental illness affects lots of mothers and is not a sure fire way to gain custody. if she has psychotic episodes then he might have a shot. if she takes her medications and don't have any "acting out" episodes then that probably won't hold up. good luck

I guess I just read it differently than you did. I read it as asking for advice on how to raise money to help her bf. I guess it just goes to show how two people can read the same exact thing and get something different out of it.

try legal aid they would go by is income as to how much he would have to pay and i believe he can make payments to them. i will pray.

I am in NO way asking you nor anyone else for money! I was only asking if anyone knew of anyways as far as maybe a way to do a small fundraiser, etc etc...that is all nothing more! SO I am soo sorry I offended you!

By the way...im sure if one of the moderators of this forum had thought i was BEGGING for money from the people of this board, my message would have been edited or removed.
