Re: HELP!!! Got a "finger food" dinner on Friday...
I got one Saturday night and I am taking:
Snowball Cookies (A hit for the holiday)
*Ingredients: 3 sticks butter, softened, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 3 cups all purpose flour, 10 oz package of chocolate chips 'the holiday chips are a cute alternative' , 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts, 1 sprinkle of powdered sugar*
*Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees; beat sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt in large mixer bowl until creamy; Gradually beat in flour (until complete) and then add in morsels and nuts; Shape level tbsps of dough into balls (1 1/4 inch shapes) and place onto ungreased baking sheets; Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned and remove from oven to cool; Once cool, sprinkle with additional powdered sugar and store/enjoy.
Hope you like this one!!!
However, I do like the other ideas!
Got a good recipe thing going here!

Re: HELP!!! Got a "finger food" dinner on Friday...
I have never been to a finger food dinner, but after seeing all these recipes, I would like you all to come to my house for one!!! lol These all sound so scrumptious. I like good ol taco dip. And its always a great hit anywhere I take it and oh so easy to make. Also the ham rolls are great, but we use pickle spears to wrap in the ham along with the cream chese. I hope no one minds, but I am printing off a few recipes from this to use at a future date. I got to go find something to eat now!!

roast your own nuts. hubby hates the cans 1/2 full of peanuts. I've been using cashews, almonds, and pecans, get them raw in the produce section.
Stir in 1 tablespoon olive oil per pound, lightly salt. Roast on 250 oven for 1 hour stirring every 20 min.
brought them to the office party and everyone was raving about them. not cheap, but way cheaper than canned nuts, taste terriffic.
makes a great gift as well.
