I am in need of your right time right place stories
OMG I am still shaking! This morn. I was cleaning the kitchen and decided to take all the chairs out so I could clean the floor. Well, I looked up and remembered I needed to call Fedex to come and pick up my package because I found a piece of skin in my bag of salad (another story). Anyway since I had taken out the chairs I had no where to sit. So I decided to sit on the stairs. I started making my call to Fedex when I heard a BOOM! and my hubby yelling OH NO! I look up and to my horror my 2 year old was doing 90 down the stairs toward me! He was tumbling head over feet and the look on his face was something I will NEVER forget it was shear horror! I threw down the phone and dove up the stairs in enough time for him to tumble right into my chest. He would have had six more steps to go before he hit the bottom. He was screaming and so was I! He is fine and playing right now but I am still so shakey. I thank GOD that everything happened the way it did this morn and I was sitting in that exact place and that exact time to be able to catch him.

Thank goodness you were there at the right time. I'm glad your son didn't get seriously hurt.

Re: I am in need of your right time right place stories
Gee, we used to do that for fun when I was a kid. Just to see my mom's face go white. Of course I was about 4 at the time. I'm very glad that he wasn't hurt. Wait until he's 4 and he does it because it scares you.
And keep in mind that this is the begining of future falls and tumbles. Most won't be bad. But then there are those trips to the emergency room....
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

Re: I am in need of your right time right place stories
Ok, I have one, but its my moms story not mine lol
When I was 14 I wanted my mom to go to the bank and get some money out of my account for me for the weekend. She didn't want to go because it was raining, but I kept begging her (harrassing is more like it lol) and she finally went.
She parked, started walking towards the bank and realized she left her purse in the car, so she cut through some parked cars so it would be quicker. There was a man on the ground between some cars and he was not breathing. She said that because of where he was, and the rain, no one would have seen him unless they were at that exact spot.
Anyhow she gave him CPR and kept yelling so someone would find them. Someone eventually heard her and called for an ambulance.
Ended up that the man had had a heartattack. He made a full recovery in the hospital

Re: I am in need of your right time right place stories
My son was suppose to come over the other day and do something with hubby. Well he was feeling a little ill so he called and said he was going on home. He had just got home when the police called him and ask how to get to where he lived. Its way out in the boonies. Come to find out, his neighbor had passed out(he's diabetic)and his wife went into a panic and could't tell them how to get to their house. When they got there they were able to revive him but they said it was close. Thank god my son went straight home or his neighbor would be gone.

Re: I am in need of your right time right place stories
I have one but it is actually my BIL's.
My Dh's sister and bil live in DC. Bil works for the government in an office about 5 miles from the Pentagon, but he is at the Pentagon 3 to 4 times a week for meetings. On Sept. 10th , the day before 9-11 happened, he was leaving his office for the night. He had a metting at the Pentagon at 8 am the next morning. His phone rang as he was walking out the door, he NEVER answers his office phone after 5 pm but for some reason that day he did. It was the Pentagon calling to say the meeting was canceled for the next morning. If he would have not answered that phone, he would have been at the Pantagon the next morning in the part of the building that was blown up! When we heard everything on the news, we were all freaking cuz we were afraid bil was there. It was 10 pm that night before we were able to get ahold of them and know he was alright. To this day he says he has no idea what made him answer that phone, but is sure his guardian angel had something to do with it!

Re: I am in need of your right time right place stories
A long time ago I had decided to apply for a job that I had seen advertised in a store window, I was sort of an acquaintance of the girl doing the hiring, her hubby worked with my hubby and were friends. I walked in and asked her about the job, she said she had just hired somene but would have hired me in a heartbeat before the other person had I just came in 1 hr. earlier, she took my number and told me the job was mine if she did not last. A few days later I was shopping and went to this store since it was a favorite of mine. The woman she had hired was working, customers were backed up checking out. Several were rude to her for being so slow. I was last in line. By the time I got there she was in tears. She was apoligizing and actually told me she was going to quit that very evening, it was her first day by herself and she just could not handle it. I felt sorry for her and said, "Its your first day, nobody has a great first day, you are doing fine, just a few grouchy customers, why before you know it you will laugh about this day, just give yourself a little time you will be running this place like you did it all your life." I had wanted and needed the job, but not at her expense. As I had told her she did well and the next time I went, there was no long waits in line, we sometimes laughed about that terrible first day she had, she told me if it were not for my pep talk she would have quit after I had left that day. Which made me realize had I not been in that line that day and given her a pep talk the job would have been mine. A few months later I was watching the news when her pic flashed up she had been kidnapped from the store. A few days later she was found stabbed, fortunately she survived.
Ignorance is bliss but the question is can we afford it?
