congrats to both of you 24 and 11...both got me beat! today is my anniversary too! 8 years. didn't get to do anything cuz hubby had to work from 1pm to 11 pm today.

gosh did every one get married this day? didn't know it was so popular...we didn't plan the date, we were going to get married aug. 23 because that is the date we started going together...we saved up for the wedding several times only to have some unforseen expense tap us out again. so we had started saving again and had the marriage license and hubby was off work due to memorial day being soon and when we woke up he asked me what i wanted to do..i said..."lets get married" he was like "really, now, no wedding..are you sure?" but i was tired of waiting so i said yes i am sure. he went to the gas station and told me to see if i could find some one to marry us..by the time he got back i was in the parking lot waiting for him...the court house said they did it and it was free! but they closed in like 10 minutes anhd would be closed for a few days cuz of the holiday.....so i jumped in the running car and we headed to the court house. they we realized we had the wrong building..so we went to the one across the street..wrong again..third time lucky! we were running across traffic jay walking in front of all these court houses,lol...got there in time and had a nice private ceramony with just us the judge and the "witness to the stars" as the judge called her. we got a poloroid of us together and a pretty print out of our wedding vows.
a huge wedding would have been nice,but both our parents are useless so it was on us...would have been nice to have the experiance and ofcourse the insaine amount of gifts and money i would have gotten...have a huge extended family and most are very well off if not rich..my great aunt owns 2 oil wells and a gas well plus more.
my cousin got married last year may 22..i told her she was a day off of the right day,lol
