New York City Trip
I just wanted to tell you guys how our NYC trip went on sunday. We were dropped off in Times Square which was awesome, tons of shopping and food. We did the Empire State building to start, and I wasn't all that impressed, the view was nice it was cool to see everything but I probably wouldn't do it again. The lines stunk, and the one elevator for the last 6 floors was a bit ridiculous. Then we ate at Planet Hollywood and my lunch was the most incredible thing I've ever eaten, the whole place was really cool. Then we just did a lot of shopping. The toys r us was AWESOME I LOVE that dinosaur!! We were walking by all the street vendors and I had this one guy start chasing me down the road. I was so scared lol. The taxis are just incredible, I can't believe more people don't die on the roads it was insane. I've been to Boston & I lived in Providence and the people there are good and kind on the road compared to NYC lol. I was just appalled at the behavior of the taxi drivers. Then later in the day I walked out of a store and there was a guy with a darn camera phone and he took a picture of my face, boobs, and butt, he was just clicking off pictures. The girls I was with stole his phone and deleted them but it was still really creepy. Other than that though I enjoyed myself, it was a lot of fun. It was pretty dirty though, it smelled really bad in some areas from exhaust and stuff, and driving through some of the parts I was just thinking to myself, how do people live like this, one on top of another? I guess I'm too much of a country girl, less than an acre of land is on top of your neighbor to me lol. But some people must like it. I had a lot of fun though and I'd like to go again.

Re: New York City Trip
That is great that you had a good time overall. I rode through China Town a few years ago and boy was it stinky! I totally agree that the cabbies are so rude, I definately would not want to drive in that town.

I'm glad you had a good time! You either love or hate NYC. Personally I love it, but only to visit!

Re: New York City Trip
Nope had no clue who the creep was, he was this short weird asian guy and we had a group of girls with us and 2 of them are like body guard size, it was a stupid thing for them to do though, I had no clue what was going on I would never had gone near the creep, nevermind grabbed his phone I'm still young I don't want to die! It was fun, but for you guys that live/lived in NYC you are definitely brave, I've never been so afraid of taxi cabs lol. I could not get over how people don't even slow down for people in the crosswalk, I was so enthralled by it. They just come zipping down the road and if there was someone in their way they just kept going it was nuts!

Re: New York City Trip
New York City is unique. I went to school there and it's a great place to spend a day if you want to go to the museums but I would hate to spend more than a day there. Keep in mind that the Empire State Building is old and it was a great building in 1930 but it isn't as impressive in 2005. The twin towers were unbelieable. Too bad they don't exist any more.
And there are weird people in NYC. But that's what makes NYC a bit different than the rest of the world.

Re: New York City Trip
That is some adventure you had in New York City! I try to avoid the Times Square area because really does get crazy there. And riding in a taxi is a game of chance. I live in NYC (downtown) and have gotten accustomed to seeing lots of strangeness but I have to say, we do have lots of diversity. I love seeing tourists in the city enjoying themselves. During the spring break I took my son to Lazer Park in Times Square for a game of laser tag. We walked by Planet Hollywood and thought that might be a nice place to have a meal but no one I've asked had ever eaten there. Now that you've mentioned what a nice place it is for lunch, I'll give it a try! Thanks!

Re: New York City Trip
I'm glad you had fun. I'm stuck between the sheer terror I would feel at being there, and ALL THAT SHOPPING! Its hard to know what a paranoid person with OCD would do. lol
