Re: Who is on a Diet?
I started Atkins about he same time as Shan in 1/04 and lost 60 bs. I have not gained it back but am maintaining right now. I do want to lose a little more but am happy I have learned now to watch my carbs and it seems to work to keep it off. I still enjoy pizza once a week and popcorn about twice a week etc but just watch it the other days. I LOVE LOW CARB!

Re: Who is on a Diet?
Not dieting, never have as I have always been thin. I do try very hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I watch fats (saturated, trans, etc.), cholesterol, sugar, salt, etc. I don't care much for greasy foods. I have not consumed meat/meat products in years. Instead of meat, I consume a plethora of soy products. As a result, my protein intake is still sufficient. I eat little to no dairy (no sour cream, yogurt, etc.) I drink skim milk or soy milk. I eat wheat/brown bread. Not a big fan of salt or sweets. I don't drink alcohol or pop. No smoking either. I exercise (in some form) on a regular basis. My one vice is red bull. Not to say I don't eat sweets, it's just not often. I never use lower fat versions of foods (i.e salad dressings) as these products usually lack taste and are simply watered down versions of the originals. I attempt to complement any meal with a variety of vegetables. If I see something I like, I eat it in moderation. Denying myself something deemed unhealthy is not wise. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle isn't difficult for me. I think for some, it is. Overall, I feel better and look better, when I follow this lifestyle pattern.

Re: Who is on a Diet?
I don't diet. I've tried, and never achieved anything. So I do as I want. If I lose, I lose, if I gain, I gain. But I was on a Reese's PB cup 'diet' (as my hubby called it) last year. I ate a ton of them. LOL (don't try this at home!! ) I don't know why, but I just couldn't stop eating them. I was eating 5 small meals every day and then my 'snack' at night. Surprisingly, I lost over 40 lbs. We moved, everything changed, and I've since gained back 10, though I'm still trying to do 5-6 small meals per day, but I just can't eat anymore.

Re: Who is on a Diet?
Like I said I am going to try Weight Watchers as soon as my mom gives me her books. I have been drinking ALOT of water, changed to DIET Coke (yuk) and have been watching what I eat. Although my neighbor did send me 2 packs of Nestle chocolate chip cookies! (she works there and gets them for free!)

Re: Who is on a Diet?
I've thought about it, but dieting is to expensive. I don't think I eat more than I used to, think it's more a case of sittting more than I used to.
I looked at the gazelles before, but my son thought they were stupid, so I didn't get one. Think I'm gonna go ahead and order one of those next month, pay the money once and then you don't have to keep paying like with a diet.

I don't spend anymore dieting than I did before. Weird. No more chips, candy, pop, donuts, bread, snack foods. Now I eat healthier and it is NOT more money..lol.

I know what you mean about diets being expensive. Even if you aren't paying for a program food that is healthy for you is very high. I usually buy those premixed bags of salad at albertsons everytime they have them for 99 cents. A local store here had boneless, skinless chiken on sale a few weeks ago, so I packed my freezer w/ it LOL
I thought the gazelles were stupid too. I actually bought it to resell and my best friend talked me into setting it up and trying it and I haven't been off of it since. My knees are bad and when I walk on the treadmill they hurt so bad I could barely move, but the gazelle is very easy on the joints. I am a total believer in it now. The first week my upper arms were a little sore, but that was it. This is coming from a LAZY person LOL If I can do it, so can you
