I dont remember how to figure out something...ok hubby got a 4%payraise so how do I figure out if it is right? can you tell the steps to go through to make sure he did

His original payrate multiplied by 1.04 will equal what he should be making now.

$10 x 1.04 = $10.40

so with that at 10 bucks anhour like you have he would get $.40 cents more on the dollar.

the 10 buckes i cant figure it is like say like 13 bucks hr...which he dont get...but you still times it by 1.04

You would get 4 cents per dollar, .40 cents per 10 dollars, 4 dollars per 100 dollars.

You can also multiply his hourly rate of pay by .04 and tell what the hourly increase would be.

Yup... just multiply whatever the original $$ was by 1.04 and you'll get the new amount. You could also divide the new $$ amount by 1.04 and get the original $$ amount.

$13 x 1.04 = $13.52

or

$13.52 divided by 1.04 = $13

Yup NOW youre a math wiz!! And congrats to him for the raise! You can also take the new $$ amount and divide it by the old $$ amount and it will tell you the percent increase.

$10.40 divided by $10 = 1.04 which is a 4% increase

lol yeh..... I got it now.....now I cna figure when i go into stores and figure a % off of stuff.....well maybe....lol... all they can get is 4% payraise in a year and it looks like he got it.....looks it should be more but wont complain he has a job.....lol....
