Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
Sorry hon. Not much help here but I think both my gumdrops started at the same time and the same size but not til I was almost 14. I felt so stupid wearing sleeveless undershirts when the other girls were wearing training bras. I do know girls start lots of things much earlier today. Blame it on Gerber nutricious baby foods and the enriched formulas. Goodness there are even vitamins in Parkay now and bread

Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
Ok my neice just went through this yes very painfull for her. they hurt she could not touch them. we put a heating pad on low on her chest and it helped. The only thing you can do is pray she developes fast so they are not to painfull. Of course my niece became aware of how many times you bump your chest. She said it never hurt before but she notices everytime some one or something bumps into her. never her fault for bumping. Bad new 6 months later got her period at the age of 10.you could always give tylenol for the pain and hot baths and showers seem to help my neice. Good luck mommy here are some (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) for you

Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
They had something on the TV the other day about this. They said that it is normal for girls to start growning and having periods as early as 8yrs old. They said boys will start later. It also said though that if your child starts before age 8 you need to take them to the doctor since that is a sign of a problem..

Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
yes, they hurt. midol might help with the pain since the symptoms are similar to pms. the bumps are most likely just glands, all girls have them

Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
I didn't have any "growing pains". The midol suggestion seems to be a pretty good one.

Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
Have you had the talk with her about her period? May be the time for it. Also give her the supplies for when she starts so she won't be without and up a creek. If she starts at school tell her to go to a teacher and not to be embarresed since it's perfectly natural.
I think I got the gumdrops at 10 and the period at 12 so you may have some time but everyone's different. Better to be prepared you know.

i don't have a daughter but i didn't have any kind of pains when i started to grow. i guess it depends on the person.
I don't support stupidity!

Re: mommy with girls starting to develope
Pickle is going through this right now and she'll be 11 in May. At the beginning of the year, when she had her checkup for Girl Scouts, I talked to her doctor about it to make sure I knew what to expect. She said that menses will most likely start about 2 years after the first signs of puberty show up. Puberty hits around 100 pounds. She just started developing at the beginning of the school year and was 94 pounds.
I miss the wrestling that we used to do but she was so sore and would cry if she was accidently hit.
One more thing is that her little buds will start to hurt from friction with her tops. I taught Pickle to use lotion on them after a shower and that helped more than I could say.
I'm not sure about the uneven growth, but like any other growth pattern, I would say that's normal.
