Question How do you keep cooked spaghetti fresh?

I am making sketti and meatballs for the kids and I made alot so we can have some for tomorrow. But, I can never keep the spaghetti good until the next day. If I keep it in the water it gets slimy, if I take it out, it dries, what do I do?

Re: How do you keep cooked spaghetti fresh?

I usually toss mine with a little olive oil and then store it that way, or I just mix it with the sauce and store it that way lol.HTH Now I'm hungry!

I read that you put the cooked spaghetti in cold water.

Re: How do you keep cooked spaghetti fresh?

I worked at a pizza place years ago and they served spaghetti. We made a big batch at the beginning of the day and kept it in the fridge. When someone ordered it we squirted it with butter and zapped it in the microwave then put the hot sauce on it. Turned out pretty good, I was suprised.

Re: How do you keep cooked spaghetti fresh?

yeah i love mixing it in with the sauce, the next day it tastes so good. my husband won't eat it that way though. so i only make enough pasta for one dinner. i always make a triple batch of sauce and freeze the left over sauce in glad containers. then i just have to defrost and heat. pasta only takes 15 mins to cook anyway.

Re: How do you keep cooked spaghetti fresh?

I really like to take my leftover spaghetti and fry it. It is really good that way. I don't fry it for long, just enough to warm it up.
