Cake baking question

I'm making my Grandson a race car cake for his birthday, I have a race car shaped cake pan and I know it takes 2 cake mixes mixed together to make the cake, but I don't remember how long to bake it, does anyone know?

Re: Cake baking question

Cook it for as long as it says on the box, then check it with a toothpick in the middle. If it comes out clean, it is done. If it doesnt, check it in ten minutes in a different spot and keep doing that till it is done.

You can also gently press down on the center of the cake with your finger. If it springs back up, its done.

Re: Cake baking question

Thanks I bought the kit last summer and made one for my son, I saved the car pan but I didn't save the directions. I just remember that it took 2 cake mixes. I will just do what you suggested cpbaby.

Thanks for the link furgy, they have some good decorating tips.
