I was considered the Matron of Honour in my friends wedding because there were 3 bridesmaids and I carried the ring. Pretty much it just meant I started the wedding procession and walked out last.. and of course I got to walk with the best man and he escorted me through the evening in dinner and stuff. I am not married, but certain tasks get you certain names.

I think it's Matron of Honor if she's married and Maid of Honor if she's single.
