Went to my local McD's saturday night to meet a girlfriend that I hadn't seen in a while and low and behold as soon as we pull in this TINY little black kitten runs in front of my car! We tried for 2 hours that night to catch her but she was too scared. Contacted my local second chance cat resue site and got a trap but still can't get her in it- I'm afraid to leave the area for fear that someone else will grab the cat and the trap-(don't want to have to buy a trap that I don't have...) any thoughts here? I'm so worried that she is going to get hit...

Try putting canned cat food in the trap to lure it in.

set up a humane trap back behind the dumpster with food in it and check on it every few hours if ya realy wanna catch it. Animals need water so you would need to keep an eye on it

Good luck on rescueing the new little Tarbaby in NC. If it was in Greensboro my BIL would go get it for sure

Man if lived close I would help you catch it, I seem to attract black cats. I have 7 black cats right now. Took 10 to my uncles 2 wks ago, he lives and works on a 500 acre farm and they want cats to keep in their barns. I have one little black & white one, but the rest are solid black. One of the 10 I took to my uncles was black & white, But out of 19 cats all were black but 2, and I had 2 little black kittens about a week old, one died yesterday and the other one died today. It's been getting pretty cold at night here, so I think they froze to death, wee wee little and the mommy wouldn't take care of them. Hope you catch the little fellow. I like the name tar baby, might name one of mine that. I have a Binx, Boo, Pouncer, oreo, hocus pocus, pookie, 2 need names.
