Re: any1 know some good diet plans???
Check out a book called the G.I. Diet, by Rick Gallop.
The Glycemic Index diet is a slower, more stable weight loss plan than a very low carb plan (works good for small amounts of loss, quickly) but does not have any of the ketosis or heart disease increased risks as with the carb cutting.
the book/plan is very simple, yet detailed. it's our recommendation, in conjunction with a book by Joyce Rodgers, The 7 secrets of Biblical eating. Even if you bypass the spiritual aspect of her book, there is a lot of good nutritional information in this book.

Re: any1 know some good diet plans???
Yes! I didn't even know I was doing it! LOL. it was very similar to the plan I had done on my own, I have had a fairly steady loss, albeit slow (which is OK, your don't shock your metabolism that way and are more apt to keep weight off) over the past 3-4 years.
My hubby just recently got Gallop's book so we are making some minor changes to fit in with it. He makes it easy, foods are a RED GREEN or YELLOW light.

Re: any1 know some good diet plans???
I'm on Atkins, have been since 1/1 and am down 43 lbs. I'd suggest you go to Walmart and buy a paperback copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. It explains all the phases of the diet, how it works, why it works, what you can eat, how much, what you can't and medical studies proving the theory that processed sugars/starches cause wt. gain. It is very easy and satisfying. I've done WW, Slimfast, lofat, local....all left me hungry, hence I'd fall off and gain it all back plus some.
Atkins works, if you're willing to honestly do it and be honest. Good luck w/ whichever plan you choose!!

Good luck losing weight!
Try adding more fruits and vegetables and water to your diet. (simply cooked or raw, not in cream sauces....obviously). Cut out soda and you will lose weight. Even diet soda supposedly does something to your system.
And a little moderate exercise goes a long way.

Re: any1 know some good diet plans???
I wouldn't recommend Atkins. The diet does work, but as soon as you stop, the weight piles right back on, plus some. This happened to me and to quite a few other people I knew as well. Also, the Atkins diet is very bad for your kidneys because of the excessive amount of protein you have to eat. Check with your doctor to see what he/she recommends.

Re: any1 know some good diet plans???
If you don't change your ways of eating, no matter what diet you go on, the weight will come back once you go back to old ways. Those really wanting to lose weight will realize it's a lifetime commitment, and getting lacidasical and not watching food intake will put a person right back to where they started.
Angel, no matter what plan you choose, drink TONS of water and be sure to exercise. Those right there, are the keys to success.
I'm a firm believer in Atkins, but I'm not going to defend my WOE to anyone. However, if you want some tips, I will be more than happy to give them to you. Reading the book is a good start though.
