i need help finding a cake decorating idea for a house warming shower. we are throwing it for my mom's friend whose apartment was a complete loss in a recent fire. she has gottne a house, but need things since all was lost. i can not find a plan for a cake for it anywhere! i can fing birthday, anniversary, weeddings, baby shower etc, but no house cake ideas. anybody have a site you go to? done a cake like this or have any ideas??? please help. the shower is the 13th, and i need to get started with the cake. i usually make a practice one first. ( my kids love that! lol) tia

I have a special cookbook that has all that stuff. I'll look all through it today and see if i can find one fitting for the occasion!

I havent gotten to the cake section yet but i came across a couple of different baskets.
One is called "New House MailBox" You put some cookies and a loaf of homemade bread inside.
The other one is called "Welcome Neighbor Gift Basket" and you fill it with an Address book and crackers with spread and fruit.

I'll post again when i find the cakes!!

Could you try baking just plain cakes and make on the resembles a house like a layer cake use diffent size cake pans or cut them to the size you would need? Use candies to decorate it with? Sorry I am no more help then that.
