What silly, wacky childhood toy do you remember?

I was going through a couple boxes of my son's things (that I'm hauling up to his house by the truckload now that they have their own, big place!) And it got me thinking (oooh, don't you all hate it when I think??) about some of the toys we had when I was a kid.

Remember the paddle ball? The silly wooden paddle with the rubberband and ball on the end of it? That was a real brain stimulator, wasn't it? One, two, three...one, two...one, two, three, four...one, two. We'd play with it about 5 times, then the rubberband would break, the ball would go rocketing across the room, break something, then we'd get a spanking with the paddle!!

GREAT TOY!

I'm sure there's more, but that was the first one that came to mind!

Was that the big ball with the handle on it that you sat on?

How about the Sit & Spins? LMAO! My kids both had one of those and LOVED them. Another real brain stimulator! Let's spin this sucker as fast as we can (or our parents can) and see how dizzy we get and how long before we fall off!

What WAS that stuff inside Stretch Armstrong? I have a feeling it was all the leftover 'flubber' from my childhood!!

Skip-Bo. Mine had a lemon on the end.

I wore the side off of mine and the rattle-y things all came out.

I think they were called clackers.

They were two balls on a string and you would clack them together. I think they stopped making them because pieces would break off and go in kids faces.

I can still picture ours hanging from the telephone wires.

Wheelo-o klit-kats...those plastic balls on the end of 2 strings, that you click together, and would nail you in the knuckle, lincoln logs, and good ole tinker toys, slinky, and the gyro-scope.

And who could forget those killer chemistery sets. Just about burned down our bedroom.

Yes! Clackers and gyroscopes, and chem sets, and cheap microscopes that we'd put everything and anything under! I LOVED Wheel-o's! I had them, my kids had them! Do they still make those things? I could do those and gyroscopes forever!

Pogosticks. Still can't do those! And I remember my dad made me a pair of stilts! I couldn't do those either!

Skip bo was after my childhood and somehow both my kids missed out on those!

I remember silly putty which bounces and you can press it against the comics to make an impression. Also the dangerous toys like the pistols which shoots tiny bullets and mold master which melted wax to make other toys.
