    Unhappy Anyone ever used CLR to clean their cooffeemaker?

    Ok The directions said to use 1 part CLR to 8 parts water. I used 1 part CLR to 10 parts water. Then it said to run through the cycle 4 times with cold water.....I have ran it through 20+ times...I made a pot of coffee and it tasted just like I would imagine CLR tastes! LOL Not funny but now they are telling me to use 1 cup lemon juice with 9 cups water and run through 4 more times. I have done that but am so afraid to taste the coffee again. ( I had the runs and a very bad headache all day from the last pot! )
    Has anyone ever used that to clean their coffeemaker? The directions say that you can use it for that. I'm about to throw it out, but if I do that then I wont have a coffee maker until I can afford one! LOL I cant go THAT long without coffee.

    I use vinagar too.

    Thanks for the tip {{NEVER use CLR in coffee maker}}

    I have used it in some lawn/sprinkler toys that someone gave me because they were "broken". Ran some half strength CLR and they worked just fine ...

    I use a few spoonfulls of baking soda to make a "pot of water" about once a month. Sweetens the pot right up. Guess it works because it's a natural ingredient.

    Thanks for all your advice.....I have ran the lemon juice through and the cold water several times....I guess I will attempt to make another pot. The people at CLR company are gonna hear my mouth again if that still doesnt clear it up! I cant afford to throw my coffeemaker out right now! They shouldnt tell you that it is ok to use if it is not really.
    I know what you mean *Free4us* that coffee was so horrible. And the headache and runs all day weren't very pleasant either! LOL
    I had debated on whether to use the CLR or not and then finally decided what the heck! I wish I never would have done that now...I have learned a bad tasting lesson this time! LOL

    Thank you everyone for responding so quickly. I really appreciate it. I am gonna go make a pot now. I'll right back in a little to let you know what it tastes like! LOL

    Ok the coffeemaker is trash! I tried all of the above and then some and NOTHING is getting that taste out. Do NOT use this product in your coffeemaker (unless you need an excuse to buy a new one! LOL)

    Sorry about your coffee maker .. you should write planetfeedback and you never know, maybe CLR will replace your coffee maker .. worth a try.

    Smile

    SOrry about your coffee maker.
    I know that around my house we use Ocyclean once a month in the coffee and tea maker. It does a wonderful job and it truly rinses clean.
    Hope this helps someone!
