all 3 of my kids have Chicken Pox

Today i got to noticeing red spots on my children, My 7 yr old i noticed her scratching her chest and back and i looked and sure enough it is chicken pox. Then i looked at my one and two year olds and they both are breaking out with it. I bought some aveneo, and some calamine lotion.

Is there anything else i should do?
Has anyone else's children had this lately?

My kids are all caught up with their immunizations. I didnt think they could get it.

Be thankful they all have it the same time because now they will be done with it. Sorry..lol....just keep em comfortable and TRY to keep them from scratching them open.

with the shot you can still get the chicken pox however you will not get a bad case it should be mild. I had the chicken pox 3 times when i was little, let me tell you it sucked butt!! try making a baking soda paste and put it on the pox it should make them itch less( note that also works on mosquito bites too!)

Baking soda baths will help as much as aveeno. And benadryl if the itching is unbearable. Keep their nails clipped short, hands very clean and if they're old enough, stress the importance of NOT scratching and spreading the blisters. Lightweight socks on the little ones hands will help prevent scratching while they are sleeping.

    thank you all .

I will try the baking soda. I can tell my 7 yr old not to scratch but my 1&2 yr olds , i guess i will have to keep socks on there hands which will be impossible.

Ghetto_Gurl you got it 3 times. My goodness i feel for ya. I dont even remember having it and my mom says she thinks i had it . All she can remember is 2 of us had it. Knowing my luck it was my sister and brother.

Please try to find out for sure. If you have not ever had it, get immnized please! Chicken pox is much worse when caught in adulthood. It can be very harmful, even fatal, for adults!

And even though you may know this anyway, DO NOT GIVE THEM ASPIRIN! The reports say it can lead to Reyes Syndrome.

yes i had heard it was worse for adults. You would think it would be worse for kids. I'm trying to be very careful. My mom didnt keep any of my medical papers from when i was a child and i bounced around from dr. to dr.

Maybe thats why i keep my kids at the same dr office and have a file set away just for dr visits. Thank you for reminding me to get immunized.

yes thank you I will not give them Aspirin.
