HAHAHAHAHA!! Sucker!

I got a letter from the Department of Child Services saying:
A wage assignment has been sent to the non-custodial paren'ts employer. You should begin receiving payments in approximately 4-6 weeks.

HAHAHAHAHA!! I KNEW the louse couldn't work under the table forever and now the State has found him!! So, the kids will have a little more Christmas this year, just a week or two late!! YIPPEE!!

Good for you. Let's hope he doesn't quit his job in the meantime.

Woohoo!! Iknow the feeling...It took 7 years to track down and enforce child support for my dot. They now garnish his wages. He's in the Air Force so he doesn't have much of a choice to pay or not!

Enjoy doing more for the kids.

Its a great feeling to finally get what your kids have long deserved. Dead beat parents are a major pet peeve of mine!!

My friend's brother's wages are garnished from his job for child support. He got fired from his job. He then applied for state aid. He gets it, but the child support is still taken out. Obviously, not as much --but it still helps out the mom.

Well, the last time (about 4 years ago), I got TWO whole checks before he "voluntarily terminated"(quit) his job!! Hey, every little bit counts. He owes over $10,000 in child support.

How is a man supposed to support 2 homes with double bills? I cannot help but feel sorry for them. I think it is entirely too high.
My dot's sperm donor pays $394 a month. $354 of that is current support, $40 is back support where he weaseled his way out of paying it for 7 years. So he could have saved himself $40 a month there. As you know, having kids yourself, kids are expensive. My girls just have to own Reebok or Nike shoes, Old Navy pullovers, Gap jeans and the coolest in toys. That doesn't include Dr bills, dental bills, school expenses, ie field trips, snack money, lunch money. $354 no where near touches what it takes to cover all this for my dot. He is suppossed to provide her health insurance through the air force but that is a joke...we have always carried her ins. She wears glasses and has since she was 3. We don't have vision coverage on our ins. plan. At $159 a pair (Walmart cheapies) and a pair a year because kids are hard on glasses. He has yet to pay a dime. Just figure lunch at school, $1.25/day 5 days a week=$6.25/week. If there is just 4 weeks in a month thats $25 for lunch. Add .75 a day for snack, thats $15 a month for snack.

It is bad enough they lose their children, but then they have to pay cash for losing them too!
I think it varies from case to case. In my case my Dot's "donor" chose to leave. He never has even asked to see her. The last time he saw her was in a shopping mall and she spotted her dad. She was only about 19 months old. She took off running to him and when she got to him he push her down and told her to go back to me and walked away. She is now 9 years old. He has always had an address, phone number, etc. He never has even so much as sent her a birthday card.

I don't think it should EVER go for rent, or billls.
I also have to disagree on this too. Yes I would still have to pay a water bill and a cable bill and an electric bill but if I didnt have kids that needed baths, left lights on, needed clothes washed, or wanted nick jr. my bills would be cut in half.

I promise this isn't an attack on you. This is just my opinion and I respect your opinion. I'm curious to see what everyone elses opinion on this is.

Yes, ReneeSisk, there ARE people who abuse their child support. I, fortunately, am not one. I worked two jobs, went to technical school and took care of my son with the only help from the state being Daycare and Medical. I did the rest. Even on the daycare, I had to pay $150 co-pay. His order is for $180 a month. I don't think that is too high since he was making $2000 a month at the time of our divorce.

Congrats!

I'm glad you're going to start getting the support you need & deserve. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He should have been taking care of the child/children in the first place.
