My dot's sperm donor pays $394 a month. $354 of that is current support, $40 is back support where he weaseled his way out of paying it for 7 years. So he could have saved himself $40 a month there. As you know, having kids yourself, kids are expensive. My girls just have to own Reebok or Nike shoes, Old Navy pullovers, Gap jeans and the coolest in toys. That doesn't include Dr bills, dental bills, school expenses, ie field trips, snack money, lunch money. $354 no where near touches what it takes to cover all this for my dot. He is suppossed to provide her health insurance through the air force but that is a joke...we have always carried her ins. She wears glasses and has since she was 3. We don't have vision coverage on our ins. plan. At $159 a pair (Walmart cheapies) and a pair a year because kids are hard on glasses. He has yet to pay a dime. Just figure lunch at school, $1.25/day 5 days a week=$6.25/week. If there is just 4 weeks in a month thats $25 for lunch. Add .75 a day for snack, thats $15 a month for snack.

I think it varies from case to case. In my case my Dot's "donor" chose to leave. He never has even asked to see her. The last time he saw her was in a shopping mall and she spotted her dad. She was only about 19 months old. She took off running to him and when she got to him he push her down and told her to go back to me and walked away. She is now 9 years old. He has always had an address, phone number, etc. He never has even so much as sent her a birthday card.

I also have to disagree on this too. Yes I would still have to pay a water bill and a cable bill and an electric bill but if I didnt have kids that needed baths, left lights on, needed clothes washed, or wanted nick jr. my bills would be cut in half.
I promise this isn't an attack on you. This is just my opinion and I respect your opinion. I'm curious to see what everyone elses opinion on this is.
