What kind of exercise do you do...

I try to walk 30 minutes each night. You should do 30 minutes of exercise 3 nights a week.

While we are at it...I weigh 200# and eat pretty healthy. My problem...I don't just get 1 cup of something.

Put your weight and your main weight-loss problem.

My name is BeesKnees, I weigh 155 and I am a carbo addict

I try to fit excercise in, and wish sometimes that I was back at my old job which was so much more demanding physically . But now i work full time, go to school part time and chase my 5 yr old son around in my free time I thought that would be good excercise, but I have a bad habit of eating on the run or eating for comfort and both cases involve mega carbos!
I am working on it, but I am weak when I am tired which is almost always.

Exercise? Exercise? Hang on a sec.....I need to find a dictionary.. <flipping pages and reading> Ooooooooh....Well I exercise my mouth by mouthing off, I exercise my hands by posting here and writing contracts, I get the run-around by subs but I don't know if that qualifies. I do laundry basket squats, wrestle with the kids (both emotionally and physically), do the 4 mile grocery store walk, do the 20 pound grocery bag lift, and the iron man 50 pound bag lift of dog food from the carport to the house. Then I cool down by doing streching including but not limited to the following: Bending to clean toilets, touching the floor (while picking up socks), unloading of the dishwasher (which if done quickly can be considered aerobic) and hugging my kids...

I walk (alternate with running) 45 minutes at least 4 times a week, try for 7. If I don't walk, I do 30 minutes of tai chi. I'm NOT a morning person, although I get up at 5-5:30 every morning. So my exercise comes in the evening, normally after 7 or 8pm. Which wires me up and gives me WAY too much energy at night.

I eat very little red meat (less than 2 servings a month) and TRY to stay away from fats and carbs. Which is very difficult since I'm a carboholic. I don't eat breakfast, ever (except when Gia's hubby made it for me in Alabama!) Seems if I eat ANYTHING for breakfast, it triggers my appetite, and I'm hungry ALL day long. I don't eat lunch either. I just normally am too busy and just not hungry. So I'm a one-meal-a-day person for the most part. IF I do eat lunch, on the weekends or if I'm out, then I don't eat supper. I don't have a huge appetite anyway.

Just keep the carbs out of reach and the Edy's "Nuts About Malt" far, far away.

My son and his girlfriend are BIG into working out and nutrition. He swears that if a person eats 4-6 SMALL meals spread over the day, eliminating MOST fat and carbs, it keeps your metabolism running high and you will lose weight (or maintain) I do know that red meat is NOT good, particularly for women because it causes us to carry our weight in our midsection, where most of us have our problems anyway. (do a search here at BBS for Relora, and read the article I posted, there's some excellent info in it re: weightloss and healthy eating)

I also drink 6-8 32ounce mugs of water a day. I HATE water. But it helps me feel full, flushes all the junk out of my system and keeps my skin clear.

IF you feel sluggish, just stop, take even 15 minutes and do some sort of exercise and get that energy boost! If you're a morning person, do your exercising early in the morning for your energy. Unfortunately, the only exercise I get from 5am-6:30am before I start working is lifting a coffee cup and turning the pages of the daily paper!

Is it time to start ANOTHER diet-nutrition/weightloss/exercise group/thread?

Just joined a gym 3 weeks ago. M< W step class, Thursday aerobics, friday Get Fit class, Tuesday is flea market day and we don't mess with that! Also have met with a personal trainer so am toning up with dead weights. I FEEL so much better and I think I am thinking clearer.
Diet-1 c. cereal with non-fat milk and cup of OJ. Lots of water, Lunch-soup and 1/2 sandwich.
snacks-grapes, tomatoes, pretzels, water, water, water
dinner-salad, 4 oz. protien, 1-2 carb servings and steamed vege.
So far I've lost 10 lbs and am keeping it off but I do tend to cheat on the weekends with pizza & chocolate. I just try to limit my servings.

This is great, guys..**** least for those who don't count typing on the puter as exercise (ROFLMHO). That is a good one though.

I went to a class the other day and the dr. has a PH.D. in nutrition. She did say that to eat breakfast does help you loose weight. What happens is, you get your metabolism started going. You need to eat sensibly, though. Having cookies, a slice of pie, etc. isn't going to hurt you as long as you don't do it everyday. VARIETY IN YOUR DIET...remember that.

well I'm 5'4" and I weigh too much BUT it is 30 pounds less than it was in July, for exercise I go to gym EVERY DAY and do 30 minutes on recumbant bike with a hill profile (great to work those leg muscles) and then I lift weights for about an hour daily alternating between upper and lower body and do some ab crunches with weight
