Do You Watch Animal Precinct on the Animal Channel?
OMG tonight they showed the ASPCA saving starving dogs from their owners. How can people be so cruel and the neighbors don't care? In NYC the back yards are so small and seculded. Guess they get turned in but how many don't?
One dog had his neck slashed and the owner didn't do anything to help him just let it go. they did arrest him walking the dog on the street. they take all these dogs to the vet and try to heal them. then they are adopted out. Seems like pit bulls are taking most of the abuse since so called "tough people" want them for a status symbol but won't take care of them when the novelty wears off.
They showed the starving dogs three weeks later and they look like a different dogs, all filled out and healthy. thank God.

Yes I do! And I'm torn between absolutely hating the show because of all the suffering it shows, and really liking it because of all the happy endings, and seeing the bad guys get arrested. I really think its a good program to have on the air though because it brings attention to the ASPCA and maybe encourages more people to report the bad things they see.

I watch it sometimes, but not often because I get too angry.
Did you see the one where they rescued a cat from a store that had been closed for a few days because the owner skipped town (he was wanted by the police)? It ended up with at least six officers, and the jaws of life to get the security grate off the door. I was laughing so hard though, because the cat was in the window staring at them, and I could just imagine it was thinking something like "What is wrong with these stupid humans? My person could open this door by himself!" The situation wasn't funny, but that cat's expression was.

I watch it all the time. I am so facinated with animals. I watch all the animal shows. I even went as far as finding out information on how to be an animal control officer. But I am only 5'1" and not that strong to arrest some big guy! So I live my dream by watching it on tv. It must be so hard for those officers to see what they do day in and day out. But I give them credit, because somebody has to take care of these poor defenseless animals.

I watched it last night. Those dogs were so skinny. Did you see the one with the dog that was infested with ticks or the one with the lady that had about 20 cats and her house was filthy. How do people live like that.

I have seen two different episodes where a dogs neck had been cut so maybe unicorn was talking about a different one. On the episode last night they didn't give the dog back to the owner, it was adopted. On the other episode the reason why they gave the dog back to the owner is because the owner had left the dog in the care of a friend. Well someone he thought was his friend. At first they thought that the cut came from a rope being tied around the dogs neck but after further examination the vet said that it was a very clean straight cut and that if it was caused from a rope it wouldn't of looked the way it did. His neck would of been more mangled. So it wasn't the original owner that had done that to the dog it was the so called friend and when the police went to talk to the actual owner they said that they believed that he didn't know the dog was being harmed and that's why they released the dog to him.

I saw those episodes Autumn. Did you see the one about the guy who lives in a small van with a dozen or so assorted animals? UGH... At least he was a kind-hearted man who couldn't turn down a stray, but how on earth did he live like that?
I used to watch the show a lot (even though it makes me want to go to NYC and beat the cr@p outta those people)...and I liked Emergency Vet too. But hubby got mad at AT&T and cut our cable off. Now my only entertainment is to watch my five kitties lie around the room and snore.
I didn't see that episode Ravenlost but that was nice of the guy to want to help them. Sorry your hubby had the cable cut off.
