I found the dog's owner. Sort of.
This just keeps getting goofier and goofier. If you've been following the saga, you know I've been calling this phone number non-stop practically since 9pm Wednesday night, even going down to the owner's address on the dog's id tag.
So I've had this dog since Wednesday, right? About 8:00 tonight I'm going to take it for a walk. Go out my front door, walk 100 feet (literally) with this dog on a leash, and this guy and girl in a car are stopped in the neighbor's driveway. The guy says, "Hey, did you find that dog?" I said, "Yeah, a couple days ago, do you recognize it?" Guy says, "Yeah, it's my dog, come here Marius." (with a name like Marius, it's pretty obvious it's the dog's owner)
THIS KID LIVES 2 HOUSES DOWN ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET!!!
I told him the whole 3 day story, how I've called non-stop (# belongs to his x-girlfriend), how I've called the vet's, how I drove to his x's house, how I've walked the subdivision and neighboring areas for 3 days with this dog. I asked him when he was missing and he said Wednesday. THIS KNUCKLEHEAD WAS HOME ALL DAY YESTERDAY SITTING ON HIS COUCH and not once noticed HIS dog playing in my yard for 12 hours or my nieces & nephews walking him a dozen times??? HELLO. So I'm getting a little aggravated because I'm a little attached to this mutt, and because this kid's such a dipsh*t.
He said that Marius must have gotten out of the fence, that he's wanting to keep him inside but he's not trained. I said, "The h*ll he isn't, he's been staying in my house the past 3 days and not had one accident. Blah blah blah. I said fix the fence, take care of this dog or I get him and headed back home to get MY dog to walk. Well Marius starts whining and following me home until Tony (this kid went to school with my dot) holds him by the collar.
I come in, get a drink of water, take Zoe on a 30 minute walk. On the way back home GUESS WHO'S RUNNING LOOSE??? Yup, Marius. So he comes home with me, lays under my desk. I call the neighbor's house, get the answering machine. Tony and the chicklet are gone again already. So I take Marius BACK over there, put him in the fence and listen to him whine until I'm in my house. I go back out to finish my walk and GUESS WHAT??? Yup. Marius is loose again, laying on my front porch. So I take 2 buckets full of water and ice, a rope and tie him up to the big tree in their front yard with a blanket to lay on.
I wanted to let him stay here, but d*mnittoh*ll, TAKE CARE OF YOUR DOG. At least leave him in the garage or bathroom, NOT in a back yard he can get out of in 30 seconds.
I'm going to check in a bit to make sure he's okay. Then again before I go to bed. It's really hot outside, still near 90 at 9:30 at night.
GOOD GRIEF. I knew it knew it knew it. I should have let my sister-in-law's family have him last night. Now I'm going to see him running amok all the time and worry about him.
SEE what happens when you try to do the right thing?

Uhm, why didn't he see you walking his dog while HE WAS OUT LOOKING FOR HIM????? I'd be keeping a close eye out, and if he didn't act right Maruius would be on a one way trip to SIL's house.
|
jaybird, I second that, (but some could say I'm not a nice person)LOL. PPL like that should not own animals....It's cruel....and why would they automatically throw the dog BACK in the yard, if he was missing for three days....hmmmmmm? Wouldn't you want to spend time w/ it? Make sure it was ok? It sounds like they don't give a d@mn about the poor dog, next time it got loose like that, it would go to SIL's house. I doubt they would miss it for a couple of days

Yea, exactly.
I mentioned something about how I can't believe he didn't see him over at my house in the past 3 days. (22 year old, new hottie girlfriend, little brain in control) If this continues, Marius continuing to get loose...after a few more times, that's it. Marius is going to a new house. Period. That's just negligence and abuse. I don't even feel one ounce of pity for the kid. Dog's been gone 3 days and he throws him in the backyard (that he got out of to begin with) and leaves right away again?
More I think about it, madder I get...

It's still in the high 80's here. Marius is laying in their front yard whining. I can't stand even checking on him. No one's home. Maybe I should just go over and 'accidently' take my leash back? Then if Marius just happens to show up on my porch...I'll be on my way to s-i-l's at sun up.
I just want to shake that little snot. I told him Marius hadn't eaten but a few morsels of food (besides treats for going potty) since he's been with me. I told him to take him in and feed him.
Yea, he really missed him didn't he?
Lil sh*t.
He would have been so good for my sil's fam.
cab>>>that's awful! That's as much abuse as if they beat the dog.

I should grab the dog and go straight for Alice's right now. Don't stop, don't look back. Screw it. If he asks if I've seen his dog... nope...how can he prove anything??????? He could check my house, wouldn't find the dog.
I'm totally serious....that is exactly what I should do. It is highly evident that the dog didn't even miss its owner or the owner really miss the dog.
I'm so mad I could spit. Little jerk.
((called sil, she's not home))

Okay. PANT PANT GASP PANT. It is still freaking hot outside. When I walked out the door at 10:30, the g/f's car was there and Marius wasn't tied up to the tree, he was BACK in the fenced back yard, whining. I went around the one block (my run circuit, 5 times is 2 miles, 7 1/2 times around is 3 miles) FIRST time around, the kid was leaving the subdivision in his truck, g/f's car still there. Every trip around, I could hear Marius whining/yapping half a block away. They must have tied him in the back, because before, never heard him, never knew he was there. @ 3am I feel like I might need another walk. Might have to open the gate to the fence accidently. It has to be near 90 outside still, almost impossible to breathe. I emailed (good GRIEF, sweat's dripping down my forehead off my nose onto the keyboard!) s-i-l, told her if they really wanted him, let me know ASAP and I'd take care of it. Kid has my leash and bowl, has to bring it back at some point. And it's only a matter of time.....
Need another shower. GAH.

I once knew a woman who gave a family one of her dogs. A few weeks later she drove past their house to see how her dog was doing. The dog had been severly beaten and neglected. Her fur had fallen out due to malnutrition, and her hip was broken. The original owner ended up sneaking into the yard and stealing the dog back. She could't keep the dog because her dobermans would always try to kill it, so she gave the dog to us. Not that I would ever encourage stealing or anything...

Dog? What dog? (Innocent look ) No siree, I haven't seen Marius, thought you took him? Nope, sure haven't seen him!
Sure sounds like YOU are the one giving this dog a loving and caring home, not the nimrod! And for him just to throw the poor thing in the back, knowing that is how he got out in the first place..well, sounds like YOU need to have this lil guy with ya.
Ummmm did I mention, Dog? What dog? (cough cough)

If I were you and saw that dog out again, I would immediately put him in my vehicle and take him to the sil's house. That dog deserves a good home. He obviously desires some loving attention.
