You living in MO it probably gets pretty cold so I would go with the Bunting. It's kinda like a little sleeping bag that has sleeves and a hood if I remember right and it will keep her warm when you take her out. I hope this helps you decide

Diapers. They are more practical. Buntings are nice if you get one as a gift, but I've found over the years, that you can wrap an infant in a couple receiving blankets and/or a larger one, and they will be as warm and snugger (newborns like that bound and snug feeling) And remember, the biggest mistake new parents make is OVERdressing a baby. They will get sick more often from being OVERdressed and consequently TOO warm, than being a tad bit chilly. Any infant over 8-10 pounds has enough body fat to adapt to changing midwestern temps. Besides, how much will you be taking a newborn out running around the first couple of months during a Missouri winter? It will outgrow the bunting long before you get any use of it. Get the diapers and a teensy stocking cap.

I agree with jaybird, my son was born in Feb. I took him back to the doctor in 6 weeks, boy did I get a chewing out. I had a diaper, little t-shirt, bunting, recieving blanket and a big blanket wrapped around him. He weighed 8lbs 12oz when born. And in WV we get some cold winters. He took everything off of him but the diaper, and t-shirt, then wrapped him tight in a recieving blanket, then the big blanket around him. Said it wasn't good to let him get to warm. I took his word for it. He and his sister later on always sneaked outside bare footed in the snow and played. I would come home from work, there would be little footprints in the snow. They never got sick. So lose some of the clothes, when you take your baby back for his or her check up, so you won't get chewed out by your doc.

Well-here's my decision (posted this when I thought I wasn't going to get to see my SIL & nephews today, got to see 'em)
1 jumbo pack of size one pampers (then I go to size 2 to get more of those )
1 big pack of baby wipes refills (maybe huggies, maybe an off brand, haven't decided)
And, some baby hangers-cus we REALLY need some
thanks for all ur commentS!

Just a little hint for ya. Get you a pk of cloth diapers, not the already folded ones. I used cloth diapers, didn't have pampers when I had my kids. anyway the cloth ones come in very very handy. use them to wrap your baby when you get her out of her bath. eaiser to hold on to her with the diaper. use them for burping pads. changing pads. makes a big bib. Every time someone in our family has a baby you can be sure some one buys them a pk of cloth diapers. If its real warm in your house, these are nice to lay over a baby when they sleep, not heavy as a receiving blanket. but nice and soft. just to cover them with. try them you will love them. Just a little idea you might want to try. Ask some of the older women what all you can use a cloth diaper for. And one other thing I did, when there were a lot of people around, everyone wanting to hold your baby. give her little kisses on the cheek or forehead. seems like someone always wants to give them a kiss on their cut little button mouth. There are people that will do this. I didn't want everyone or anyone kissing their little mouth. to many germs, and colds. So I always gave them the little kisses on cheek or forhead and say I don't to kiss her on the mouth because of colds going around, better safe than sorry. That way no one will give her kisses yet. There is always someone who will pick her up and say ah look at that cute little mouth. I gotta give her a little kiss from aunt Harriet or uncle clyde or someone.

I'd go with the diapers. No offense to anyone, but I could never stick my kid in what looks like a bag. When caleb was little, he loved to kick his feet. They can't do that too well in a bag.
