Quick.... I need suggestions & comments - Big Big Forums

Now before anyone gets their panties in a wad, lol, me posting thishere, I was torn on where to post this and I am in hopes to really just want to see what you all think <thinks highly of your alls opinions> really!!!

I have over 100 beanie babies, all TY......and tennie beanies
I want to sell them! need to sell them!
I have searched and searched for buyers and sites to get the best deal
but so far I have found that in most areas of the country I can only get far less for each beanie baby than I purchased for them. This is very disappointing. Now I know that none of you know me and that I usually lurk on this board. But, I believe I am like most of you. I am out there looking for the best darn deals and ANYTHING for free. I love these boards and consider you all a part of my family. And that is why I am posting this here.

This is what I was thinking. I have paid waaaaaaaaay too much for these beanie babies, as a matter of fact I quit collecting them when they said it was going to be the end. THANK GOODNESS, or I would be more in debt. Anyways what I was thinking in order for me to get anywhere close to what I paid for them, I thought that maybe I could some how hold a raffle on the boards here and only here. Something like 10 chances for 5 dollars. You in turn would get either all of the beanies or I could split the wins between 4 winners and everyone would get 25 beanie babies. Now, I know what you all are thinking, how would we know how to send the money and who and where and what and all that, who would keep track of it all and the sorts. WELLLLLL, I was thinking of somehow getting someone on here that everyone trusts to mail & hold the money and such, mainly for your alls trust and secondly until the money gets to a certain amount. And the reason for that is, well I have invested so much money in these darn things and the area that I am in, West Virginia, these people are not interested in beanie babies. So I am having a hard time trying to get from them what I invested in them. YES, I do want to make a profit from them, but I can't think of any other way to do this with out loosing big in the end. This way if everyone pays 5 dollars, then everyone has 10 chances to win. I am being honest about them, they are in great condition and I only have them up to the year 1999.

I can if everyone is interested in this, list all the ones that I have and if I get enough yeas, about it then I will need one of the mods or Alex or someone to get in touch with me about the money thing. I will give any and all kinds of information about me and the beanie babies. I don't have pictures, but I can get some if that is what you need. They are in storage containers and before that were on display in a china cabinet. If there is anything more that you need to know or want to know ask me.

MY MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS IS: I am in so much debt now and need to some how get some christmas money, yes I know that sounds like me with a sob story, but it is the honest truth. This is the only thing that I can think of to make some extra cash. I don't and won't ask you all to trust me and send any money to me personally, but to someone you trust. If I can find someone to help me with this. PLUS, I will let them pick the winners, how ever they can do that. SO if there is anyone out there {ALEX,hint-hint** that wouldn't mind giving me a hand with this, please get in touch with me.

OR if anyone else has any other suggestions of how to do this, please let me know.

ALSO think about christmas........GREAT PRESENTS......

To tell you the truth my wife and I are in the same tree. we used to be beanie baby aholics getting them everytime they came out standing in lines at hospitals at 4 in the morning just to get some, and paying as much as a hundred dallars each for em. I really wish we never did, we wasted a ton of money on something that is worth pennies now. so the only thing I can advise is to get rid of them as fast as you can. The best thing to do is to go on ebay and sell them in packaged deals,that usually is the best way to sell things like that. Especially while their are people still hooked on them.

I have tons of these too that I have to sell and I thought about ebay. I'm so new to that though (never sold anything, just bought). What would I list them under. Any suggestions on how to go about this if I don't have pictures of mine either? I don't have a digital camera. I'd appreciate any help!

Unfortunately the day of the Beanie Baby came and went. Hold on to them. They will increase with value over time but it will be about 20 years before you are able to recoup any cash.

In the meantime start baking and go to your local flea market. People will buy all sorts of baked goods during the holidays. I am making different flavored popcorn for my family but I bet you could sell a quart size bag of chocolate carmel popcorn for about $5 and it would cost you about $2.

There are tons of people who don't bake any more and if you can sell it then do so. I may actually do it myself next year. People with kids will buy it just to keep the kids quiet. And it's different from other things that they can pick up.

imitol, I know what you are going through. Several years ago I started colloecting "Franklin Mint" coins, .999% silver. I decided to sell them and quit collecting. Found out all I could get was about 1/10 of what I paid for them. THen the silver market went wild and silver climbed to $30.00 per ounce and I had a jeweler that bought them at that price. So, I did make out okay, but never recaptured what I paid. Of course the jeweler got shafted. I sold him over $300.00 worth one day. He was planning on silver going up to at $80.00 per ounce. That night the market fell, silver went bak down to less then $10.00 and he lost. He was very nice about it. He realized that the market falling was not my faylt, as neither one of us expected it to.

Get what you can. Put them on the auction board for so a certain amount per so many. Set a starting figure and let people bid on them, and use ebay also.

have you tried the auction board here. you can list them in like lots of 5 or so and put a starting price of like 15.00 and see what will happen, its worth a shot! Just remember to put in which ones they are
