“Kinda scary man, the black helicopter crowd is really upset,” Biden said, criticizing the National Rifle Association for promoting a “misinformation campaign” on background checks.

Biden insisted that there would be no central registry for background checks allowing government to keep records on gun owners. “No way that Uncle Sam can go find out whether you own a gun because we’re about to really take away all your rights and you’re not going to be able to defend yourself and we’re going to swoop down with Special Forces folks and gather up every gun in America,” Biden added mockingly. “It’s bizarre. But that’s what’s being sold out there.”

The Thin Blue Line Looks Pretty Red On Gun Control

Very little in there for Dianne Feinstein and Mike Bloomberg to like.

I really can'ty glean much about the demographics of the survey audience. They do tell us this:

About The Survey

PoliceOne’s Gun Policy & Law Enforcement survey was conducted between March 4 and March 13, 2013. More than 15,000 officers completed the survey, which was promoted by PoliceOne exclusively to its 400,000 registered members, comprised of verified law enforcement professionals. Only current, former or retired law enforcement personnel were eligible to participate in the survey. The survey sample size was broadly distributed by geography and rank in proportion to the U.S. law enforcement community at large. Respondents comprised a variety of ranks from departments of all sizes, with the majority representing departments of greater than 500 officers. Of those that took the survey, 80 percent were current law enforcement officers and 20 percent were former/retired law enforcement.

I'll probably get heat for this but......being a victim of a crime does not make one an "expert" on the crime committed upon them.

By the plane load, they are bringing in the families of the Sandy Hook children massacred to speak with anyone and everyone who will listen and have their heart strings tugged upon orchestrated by a certain politician's agenda. IMO to have these families relive all the pain and for some to make them "rock stars" of their political agendas are cruel and without conscience. These families cannot offer any advice as to how to realistically resolve the issues but only show the devastation left upon those who are the victims. That will not cure the problem. If the agenda is to cure the problem, they don't belong there. We understand how serious this issue is and how difficult it is for victims, but our focus should be on fixing the problem, we are beyond the "useful" input they can provide.

Let these families grieve and deal with their losses. Please don't make them political poster children and be used. The politicians parading them around care more about their agenda than about these families.

On the news yesterday, I caught glimpses of them being ushered on and off planes. Let them go back to their shattered lives and heal what they can.



Kathy Gifford. The woman was shot in the head and has suffered brain damage. I applaud her efforts and she has really come a long way. She is truly a trooper and the victim of a horrific crime. However, being shot in the head and suffering brain damage does not suddenly enlighten one's cognitive ability on how to "fix the gun problem". She is being prompted and toted around by someone's political agenda. She's suffered severe deficits and can no longer perform her previous job but now has insight and answers to fix this country's gun problem? She's being used as someone's puppet. I think her recovery has been miraculous and she should be the "poster child", inspiration and encourager for others who have suffered brain trauma. I think that's where her current expertise lies.

The victims show the effects of the problems, not the solutions to them. IMO

I agree - these familes are being used - they are only bringing out the families who support their agenda - not the familes who have an "opposing" point of view. I have been a survivor of a violent crime. I absolutley do not support gun control. I chose to be a Survivor - I took self defense class and even went to work in the Personal Security field.... because I never wanted to feel powerless or helpless ever again. I wanted to defend those who might not be able to defend themselves... not wait for "help" to arrive.

Remember when all the gun control advocates condescendingly assured us that "no one is going to take your guns"?

State of New York reportedly confiscating firearms from citizens

The state of New York is allegedly confiscating firearms from people for mental health purposes, Ammoland.com reported on Monday. http://www.ammoland.com/2013/04/new-...#axzz2PwsbGL6o

According to Ammoland, the state is sending letters to users of SSRI antidepressants and who have experience with mental health demanding that the recipient surrender their handguns and identification that allows them to legally own firearms in the state, even if the person has no known criminal record or has not expressed any threat to commit violence.

“Those folks having their weapons and FID (firearm ID) cards confiscated have been discovered to have been prescribed multiple different types of psychotropic drugs, such as those for Depression or Anxiety. These are known as SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) class drugs and have the potential to cause serious and adverse side effects,” Ammoland reports.

The writer at Ammoland claims to have spoken with an attorney in New York, James Tresmond, who confirms that firearms are being confiscated in Erie County.

“It seems these supposedly confidential records are then compared against a list of known NY pistol license holders and letters are sent out demanding their Pistol Owner ID Cards be surrendered, as well as any firearms and accessories,” said Tresmond.

The state of New York has instituted some of the strictest gun control in the country following the Sandy Hook shooting in December. The state has implemented a law called the Secure Ammunition and Firearms (SAFE) Act, which outlaws magazines that hold more than seven rounds, requires gun owners to re-register their information every five years and requires semiautomatic rifles with detachable magazines be registered with the state police, among other things.

Last month, Benjamin Wassell of Silver Creek was arrested for allegedly trying to sell firearms that were made illegal by the SAFE Act, including two semiautomatic rifles and more than 300 rounds of ammunition, according to the Associated Press. Wassell was alleged to have tried to sell the weapons to an undercover police officer.

Yes it is a bad thing... there is a big difference between neurosis and psychosis... if I have my gun rights taken for being on ssri's I am going on disability because if I am not allowed to protect myself.... why should I have to work....

Biden’s gun advice so far would be comical if it weren’t for the position he holds. Seriously, his statements are really tough to even begin defending. Let’s take a look at some brilliance:

1. “You don’t need an AR-15. It’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use, and in fact you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself. Buy a shotgun, buy a shotgun.”

2. He told his wife Jill, ”if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house.”

3. “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.”

4. And now: “They make fun of my saying about ‘use a shotgun’ if someone is invading your home. Guess what? Use a shotgun on someone invading your home, you don’t kill your kids. Use an AR-15, it goes through the wall and can kill your kid in the bedroom.”

Wait. Just to be clear, Biden says you should shoot a shotgun into the sky outside of your house, or through a door, but don’t shoot an AR-15 at your kid’s bedroom wall, because AR-15 bullets will kill your kid in your bedroom if you shoot at them.

Got it.

P.S. Democrats, maybe you have the wrong guy advocating for gun control. Just saying…

Today is the 7 month anniversary of the attack at Benghazi and there are still unanswered questions. Today, Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith who was killed in the attack, has expressed her support for House Resolution 36 which calls for a special committee to investigate.
