A good friend brought up the theory that O might have something against his mother (this friend is black with a psych degree). He pointed out how O reacted when that young black teen was killed in Florida even going so far as saying that if he had a son, this son would look like this young murdered teen. It appears he has spent more time with this incident than he has with benghazi where 4 white men were murdered. I pointed out that when the florida teen was murdered he was looking for votes before the campaign started and benghazi happened during the final days of his campaigning and he might not have had time to focus on that. of course my dear friend had to point out to me that i seem to have forgotten how he (o) took time out of his campaign to fly to new jersey after hurricane sandy and promise all those new jersey voters that he had them covered...just days before votes were to be cast. I hate to admit it but he might have a point. (my friend did not vote for O)

Obama Defends Susan Rice on Benghazi
    By JOHN H. CUSHMAN JR.

2:41 p.m. | Updated At his news conference Wednesday, President Obama vehemently defended his ambassador to the United Nations, Susan E. Rice, after Republican senators said they did not trust her and that they would try to block him from appointing her as the next secretary of state.

“She has done exemplary work,” he said when questioned about the opposition from Senator John McCain, Senator Lindsey Graham and others, who have accused her of misrepresenting the events in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, when attackers killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

“If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me,” he said. “And I’m happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador, who had nothing to do with Benghazi and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received and to besmirch her reputation, is outrageous.”

“But when they go after the U.N. ambassador, apparently because they think she’s an easy target, then they’ve got a problem with me,” he continued. “And should I choose — if I think that she would be the best person to serve America in the capacity — the State Department, then I will nominate her. That’s not a determination that I’ve made yet.”

In a reprise of one of the presidential debates’ telling moments, Mr. Obama bristled at any suggestion that he had not done enough to protect American diplomats. “If people don’t think that we did everything we can to make sure that we saved the lives of folks who I sent there, and who were carrying out missions on behalf of the United States, then you don’t know how our Defense Department thinks or our State Department thinks or our C.I.A. thinks,” he said. “Their number one priority is obviously to protect American lives. That’s what our job is.”

Mr. Graham came right back at him on Twitter: “Mr. President, don’t think for one minute I don’t hold you ultimately responsible for #Benghazi.”

The Republican senators also called on Wednesday morning for setting up a special select committee to investigate the attacks in Benghazi.

Joined by Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Mr. Graham and Mr. McCain said at a news conference that a Senate committee of the kind that investigated Watergate was needed to explore fully whether security warnings beforehand were heeded and whether the response to the attack was bungled.

Like other Republicans, the three have been harshly critical of the Obama administration’s handling of the episode. Earlier in the week they published a letter criticizing Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta and saying the military was unprepared for the possibility of any such attack.

But it seems unlikely that Senate Democrats, who have a majority, would agree to establish a special committee of inquiry.

Congressional intelligence committees are already planning hearings.

But Mr. McCain said that because there were so many committees in both the House and the Senate with jurisdiction, a select committee was necessary.

“We believe that the complexity and gravity of this matter warrant the establishment of a temporary select committee that can conduct an integrated review of the many national security issues involved, which cut across multiple executive agencies and legislative committees,” he said.

Mr. Graham said it would be more efficient to have one committee hear from State Department, Defense Department and Central Intelligence Agency witnesses, rather than having them appear before intelligence, foreign relations and armed services committees in a scattershot fashion.

“When we do things in a stovepiped fashion, we have people going across in different ways, but we don’t have the complete picture,” Ms. Ayotte said.

All three senators are members of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

At his news conference later in the day, Mr. Obama said that a full investigation was still under way and that all the facts would emerge from it and from any Congressional reviews.

“I think it is important for us to find out exactly what happened in Benghazi, and I’m happy to cooperate in any ways that Congress wants,” he said. “We have provided every bit of information that we have, and we will continue to provide information. And we’ve got a full-blown investigation, and all that information will be disgorged to Congress.

“And I don’t think there’s any debate in this country that when you have four Americans killed, that’s a problem. And we’ve got to get to the bottom of it, and there needs to be accountability. We’ve got to bring those who carried it out to justice. They won’t get any debate from me on that.”

    http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2...s-on-benghazi/

Sen. Graham got out in front of the all-too-predictable “this certainly does seem extreme and partisan and accusatory, rabble rabble rabble” line of attack, simply pointing out: “Nobody died in Watergate.”

Senators Call For Select Committee on Benghazi
    Nov 14, 2012 12:03 PM EST

Republican Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte just wrapped up a press conference where they called on Democrats to allow for a select committee to investigate the 9/11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, which resulted in the murders of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty and Sean Smith.

"Nobody died in Watergate," McCain said.

Graham gave historical examples of past select committees, including the 9/11 attack and the war in Iraq. Graham and McCain also made it clear they have no interest in promoting UN Ambassador Susan Rice to Secretary of State.

"I am dead set that we don't promote anybody who was involved in the Benghazi debacle," Graham said.

    http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepa...ee_on_benghazi

Seeing as how it’s now starting to look “likely” that President Obama will be putting U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s name up for a promotion to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, the senators made it clear that they aren’t exactly keen on the idea of promoting an official that either incompetently or deliberately peddled a false narrative crafted to help save the face of President Obama’s “I decimated al Qaeda” claim. If the Senate GOP wanted to mount a filibuster of her potential appointment, they could. http://www.buzzfeed.com/zekejmiller/...romoting-susan

“I am dead set on making sure we don’t promote anybody who was a player in the Benghazi debacle,” Graham said in reference to Rice’s appearances on the five Sunday shows in which she blamed the Benghazi attack on a anti-Islamic video. …

“She is so disconnected from reality that I don’t trust her,” the South Carolina Republican told reporters.
John McCain, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, offered a straightforward case for why Ambassador Rice is “not qualified” to be Secretary of State during a solo appearance on CBS this morning, too. The anchors try to keep his feet to the fire, but McCain really knows his stuff, and the bottom line is this: “First of all, the casual observer knew that there was no demonstration. There was no demonstration, so, you could’ve known that to start with. Second of all, you should look into it and the additional information three days later. If you’re going to tell the American people something, you better make damn sure that it’s true.”

Benghazi timeline gets even more confusing
    By Doug Powers • November 14, 2012 04:45 PM

At his first full press conference in quite a while, President Obama today said he was the person who sent out Susan Rice to talk about Benghazi a few days after the attack: http://michellemalkin.com/2012/09/16...y-middle-east/ http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/...zi_663353.html

“As I said before, she made an appearance at the request of the White House in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided to her,” Obama said at the press conference, defending the statements the ambassador to the U.N. made regarding the Benghazi attack.

Rice has been widely criticized for giving misleading statements about Benghazi. She maintained that the killing of four Americans stemmed for a spontaneous protest that got violent.
    This is confusing.

At the CNN presidential debate, Obama and his devoted teammate Candy Crowley insisted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZV9xLPWOPs that the president referred specifically to the US consulate attack as an “act of terror” the day after Benghazi (we know that’s not the case, but this is still the administration’s argument so we must hold them to it).

Susan Rice’s “it was the video that made them do it” interview was four days after the Benghazi attack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xk6s5...layer_embedded

I couldn’t catch today’s press conference, but I’m guessing there were no pointed follow-up questions related to this little discrepancy.

Click for video at RCP: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid..._after_me.html

Charles Krauthammer asks a good question: If Susan Rice had nothing to do with Benghazi on any level — as Obama said during Wednesday’s press conference — why would he have chosen her to address that very subject with the media? the way i see it...o's way of dealing with things is to talk fast, point at everyone, change the subject, tell you that you do not understand, you do not have the facts (but never states them) and then try his best to confuse everyone and everything so that no one knows which way is up....course called double talking lawyer 101. It reminds me of dementia where a person states one thing, can't remember what they said and then says something that is the complete opposite of what was previously stated, and then recalls something that never happened.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher: The President Himself Intentionally LIED (Video)
    November, 15, 2012 — nicedeb

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher’s (R-CA) had strong words for the Obama administration during his opening statement of the 11/15/12 House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on the Benghazi terrorist attack. He addressed Amb. Susan Rice and the Obama administration’s willful deception of the American people on the true nature of the Sept 11, 2012 attack.

“This administration, including the President himself, have intentionally misinformed, (read that LIED) to the American people in the aftermath of this tragedy. Now, President Obama has the gall to name as possible Sec of State the name of the person who is the actual vehicle used to misinform the American people during this crisis,” he said.

    Meanwhile, via The Other McCain:

    A suspiciously timely scoop: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_1...ed-by-protests

CBS News has obtained the CIA talking points given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on Sept. 15 regarding the fatal attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, four days earlier. CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan says the talking points, which were also given to members of the House intelligence committee, make no reference to terrorism being a likely factor in the assault, which left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.
Rice . . . has been attacked by Republican lawmakers for saying . . . on Sept. 16 that all indications were the attack “began spontaneously” – suggesting it likely sprang from a protest against an anti-Muslim video found on the Internet. Protests of that nature had been seen in other Muslim nations in the days and weeks before the Benghazi attack.

“Available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault… There are indications that extremists participated,” read the CIA’s talking points.
And if you believe anything the Regime is saying about this, I’ve got a bridge to sell you – any bridge, anywhere.. Name your price. I’ve got a bridge just for you.

Michael Moore: John McCain sexist, racist for criticizing Susan Rice

During his press conference yesterday, President Obama lashed out at Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain over their criticism of UN Ambassador Susan Rice. http://twitchy.com/2012/11/14/live-u...ake-questions/ The senators, who have led the charge demanding an investigation into the Bengazi attacks that killed four Americans, believe that Rice deliberately mislead the public by insisting that the attacks erupted spontaneously in response to a video, and they have vowed to block her confirmation if she is nominated for Secretary of State. http://twitchy.com/2012/09/16/lying-...dent-disagrees

McCain addressed his criticism of Rice yesterday on CBS: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_1...fter-benghazi/

McCain criticized Rice for going “on national television in defiance of the facts 5 days later,” and added, “She is responsible to the Senate of the United States…I was on ‘Face the Nation’ the morning she came on and told that incredible story and right after the president of the Libyan National Assembly said it was al Qaeda…and yet she never changed her story.”

Referring to Rice, he said she was at a minimum, guilty of “not being very bright, because it was obvious that this was not a ‘flash mob’ and there was additional information by the time she went on every news show…in America.”

He insisted, “The consulate in Benghazi was turned into a death house and somebody has to be held responsible.”

    Michael Moore✔@MMFlint

Hey, McCain - grapes go sour after a week. It's 4 years later - clean out that fridge of a brain u have and come into the next decade.

    Michael Moore✔@MMFlint

Yo! McCain - The "attacking women strategy" didn't go so well last Tues, did it? So now this week, let's try "attack the black woman"! #Rice

    14 Nov 12
McCain is absolutely right. We deserve the truth. And that’s just more than the perpetually outraged Moore can handle. He took to Twitter to castigate McCain for daring to demand accountability from the Obama Administration.

Ah, yes. Gender- and race-baiting. The last refuge of the Left. If Moore had any sense, he’d realize that what’s genuinely sexist and racist is to assume women and blacks aren’t as accountable for their actions as white males like him. But that’s a totally reasonable assumption to make if you’re a liberal.

Meanwhile, this Twitterer makes a great point:

    Greg Pollowitz@GPollowitz

dear @MMFlint: still waiting for you to explain how GOP is racist to Obama's Rice but love's Bush's Rice. #WhiteRiceVsBrownRice

    15 Nov 12
We’ve got the feeling that Moore will make us wait a very long time.

If Susan Rice needs this much protection to keep her from owning up to the responsibilities that come with her job--responsibilities that would be the same no matter who holds the position--she must be hopelessly incompetent.

    ..

Well Michael...............Obama seems to be more mad at the people calling him out on the Benghazi attack than he is at the terrorists that perpetrated the Benghazi attack.............how about you address THAT issue as well..........

    ..

No sh1t, hypocrites, do we really need to dig up the pics of CONDI Rice the Party of Compassion did up with her in an Aunt Jemima headrag?

    ..

If Susan Rice cannot think for herself when on her feet then she sure as hell doesn't need the position she has let alone one of even more importance.

Race cards and women's parts cards are so very last week M. Moore, get a new idea would ya, no one listens to these excuses any more! While you're at it you need to go back to stuffing your face and stay out of politics .. you suck at it just as some others who shall remain nameless, but I think everyone knows who I mean.

    ..

It's amazing how all these "enlightened" leftist's want all these poor and helpless women and minorities to be treated differently than us evil white conservative males/females and they don't see the inherent sexism and racism in their hypocrisy. I suppose if we pointed that out to them, they would just call us sexists or racist again.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss gives insight into closed-door Benghazi briefing; terrorist attack ‘crystal clear’ on Day 1

Posted at 7:23 pm on November 15, 2012 by Twitchy Staff

    Ken Gardner@kesgardner

Saxby Chambliss: it was crystal clear from video shown in closed session today that Benghazi was a planned terrorist attack.

    15 Nov 12
When Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss emerged from today’s closed-door sessions for lawmakers on the events in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11, Fox News cameras were waiting. Among the insight that Chambliss was willing to share was that those involved knew immediately that the assault on the U.S. consulate and CIA annex was a premeditated terrorist attack.

    Gloria Mitchell@GloriaMitchell6

Saxby Chambliss nailed it. Susan Rice said exactly what Barack Hussein Obama told her to say! Now they both have to go for lies, cover up!

    15 Nov 12
    MyAmerica10 @MYAMERICA10

So where did she get the info? MT “@kesgardner: Saxby Chambliss: CIA NOT holding prisoners in Benghazi. Paula Broadwell wrong about that.”

    15 Nov 12
That’s the question we’d all like to hear answered, but it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer.

What about the emerging story that the CIA was holding Libyan prisoners at the annex in Benghazi http://twitchy.com/2012/11/12/whoa-p...s-been-missing — a story which was spread by David Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell at a speech in Denver and emerged in the wake of his resignation over their affair?

    Stephen Hayes✔@stephenfhayes

Senate Intel Vice Chair Saxby Chambliss says he does not believe there were detainees at the CIA annex in Benghazi.

    15 Nov 12
    Ken Gardner@kesgardner

Saxby Chambliss: the CIA was NOT holding prisoners in Benghazi. Paula Broadwell was wrong about that. Interesting....

    15 Nov 12
    George Perrett@GTPLords86

@krauthammer Saxby Chambliss contradicts Broadwell's comment regarding CIA annex - BUT such a conclusion contradicts Fox News reports.

    15 Nov 12
Petraeus is scheduled to testify tomorrow morning. That session will be closed to the public, but hopefully cameras will be waiting outside the door; we’ve waited long enough already for answers.

Maddow's Bizarre Defense of Susan Rice: McCain, Not Rice, Offers 'Made-Up' Charges
    By Tim Graham | November 17, 2012 | 15:35

As she moved into an interview with former Obama spokesman Bill Burton on Wednesday night, Rachel Maddow claimed it was somehow insane to resist the idea of Susan Rice being the next Secretary of State after Rice lied on five Sunday shows about Benghazi. Maddow claimed somehow John McCain was the one inventing Benghazi stories: "But if it's made-up -- like the John McCain crusade against Susan Rice -- that made-up stuff will no longer be entertained at the level of national policy."

Maddow vowed "the idea that Susan Rice is going to be your scapegoat here when she has done nothing wrong, that's the part that is nonsense and I`m not going to go along with that. And you're not using something made up about her to destroy a career that is still on its way up." Picking a Krugman or Spitzer, now maybe that could be a fight:
MADDOW: I mean, picking a fight is what they're calling this in the Beltway media, right? Picking a fight would be installing Paul Krugman at Treasury. Picking a fight would be like picking Eliot Spitzer for attorney general, right? Picking a fight would be moving Camp David to Hawaii so the president could get in more beach time.

Picking Susan Rice for Secretary of State, if the president decides he wants to do that, would not be picking a fight. It would be more, drawing a line in the sand, saying, starting now -- starting day one of this second term, which I just won in a big national election that you lost, starting now, we will fight about policy, we will fight about differences of opinion, we will fight about priorities, but we will not have any more fights based on nonsense that the right made up to entertain itself. If we have a real beef, we will fight it out.

But if it's made-up -- like the John McCain crusade against Susan Rice -- that made-up stuff will no longer be entertained at the level of national policy.

Perhaps Maddow could have liberal Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank on the show to debate her. He thinks Obama could do much better than Rice, a very undiplomatic diplomat. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...857_story.html
