I think it's too late. Even if it were to get through to "them" and they see it for what it is...what can they do? Obama is above the law. He will ignore them too and continue along with his agenda. His second term confirms that. Just wait until he goes for a third term....he can't do that????....I'm not so sure.

anything is possible mayor bloomberg (also referred to as king david) of NYC was only suppose to be able to play mayor for 2 terms and he got them to change the rules for him so that he is now mayor for his third term . of course in his third term he felt he could dictate how people should live such as no more large sodas, still trying to stop restaurants from using salt as they have used it for centuries etc. the soda law has been appealed. as far as salt goes I am not sure but he has in the past professed that his favorite food is the hot dog from the street cart....which is full of salt. now bloomberg is just a measly mayor so his powers do not stretch as far as O's who thinks he is god's gift to the world and even when he stutters (no teleprompter) he thinks he knows it all. we are in big trouble! I wonder...is this how the german people felt when hitler took over the reign of their country?

Key architect of Obamacare: This thing is headed for a train wreck
    By Doug Powers • April 18, 2013 04:37 PM

We’ve reached the stage in Obamacare when the people who crafted (and I use the term very loosely) the legislation are being forced to attribute the many failings on implementation instead of admitting to catastrophic design flaws.

    People’s Exhibit A: Senator Max Baucus: http://www.greatfallstribune.com/vie...ly-implemented

A senior Democratic senator who helped write President Barack Obama’s health care law stunned administration officials Wednesday, saying openly he thinks it’s headed for a “train wreck” because of bumbling implementation.

“I just see a huge train wreck coming down,” Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., told Obama’s health care chief during a routine budget hearing that suddenly turned tense.

Baucus is the first top Democrat to publicly voice fears about the rollout of the new health care law, designed to bring coverage to some 30 million uninsured people through a mix of government programs and tax credits for private insurance.
As Obamacare is absorbed into the economy (or most likely the other way around) and painful reality strikes, Baucus wants to leave Montana voters with the impression that the law was brilliantly constructed from the standpoint of authorship, but incompetently implemented after it was signed into law. That excuse reminds me of a presbyopic barber who once argued that the bad haircut he gave me was in fact perfect on both sides and the fault was with the horizontal unevenness of my ears. He got elected to the state legislature the following year.

Baucus has good reason for concern: http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch...implementation

Baucus is facing a competitive reelection fight next year, and Republicans are sure to attack him over his role as the primary author of the healthcare law.

A messy rollout of the law’s major provisions, months before Baucus faces voters, could feed into the GOP’s criticism.

In a letter to Baucus, Kansas GOP Rep. Mike Pompeo went to town. Here are a couple of choice excerpts: http://pompeo.house.gov/news/documen...umentID=330089

“Secretary Sebelius’s implementation of the law is certainly flawed, but the policy process produced a law that could not possibly be implemented successfully. As legislators, it is our responsibility to write bills that clearly explain our meaning and have achievable goals. By your own admission, this law is a disaster.”
    [...]
“You drafted it, you twisted arms to get it passed, and, until now, you have lauded it as a model for all the world. Your attempts to pass the buck to President Obama’s team will not work, nor will they absolve you of responsibility for the harm that you have brought via this law.”
    Ouch.

It’s still a source of daily bemusement that the same people who push for truth in product labeling and oppose deceptive advertising practices for private sector goods and services don’t seem to mind one bit that the first word in the name of their uber-expensive, job killing, nation bankrupting law is “affordable.”

The latest “oops, our Obamacare estimates were way off” example comes to us by way of The Hill:

Setting up insurance exchanges — the centerpiece of President Obama’s healthcare reform law — is costing the Health and Human Services Department a whole lot more than it originally expected. According to budget documents released Wednesday, the department expects to spend $4.4 billion on exchange grants to the states by the end of this year — double its estimates a year ago.

The HHS is also asking Congress for another $1.5 billion to set up a federal exchange in 26 states. The department has cobbled together money from other programs to get started, but officials said they need another $800 million for operational costs and $550 million for outreach and education.
By the time all is said and done — if ever — the “double the original estimate” will probably itself be doubled, if not tripled or more.

Don’t worry though, because Democrats who wrote and are implementing the law are totally confident things will easily fall into place:

Complex. Complicated. Confusing. Beyond comprehension. Two prominent Democrats used these words this week to describe the Affordable Care Act, or “Obamacare.”

One of those Democrats, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.), was one of the key architects of the law. The other, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, is in charge of implementing the law.

“I believe that the Affordable Care Act is probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress. Tax reform obviously has been huge too, but up to this point it is just beyond comprehension,” Rockefeller said Tuesday at a Senate Finance confirmation hearing, according to The Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard.
    [...]
When asked about the challenges of implementing the ACA, Sebelius said, “I think that, probably, no one fully anticipated, when you have a law that phases in over time, how much confusion that creates for a lot of people.“
What could possibly be confusing about this?

    ...

In a somewhat related story, from CNS News via Weasel Zippers, the Obama administration is approaching a dubious distinction:

In the historical tables it released along with President Barack Obama’s fiscal 2014 budget proposal this morning, the White House Office of Management and Budget revealed that in fiscal 2016, under the president’s budget proposal, it expects Obama to become the first president in the nation’s history to preside over a federal government that spends more than $4 trillion in one year.
    [...]
According to OMB’s tables, the federal government would spend$3.7778 trillion in fiscal 2014 under Obama’s budget proposal. It would then spend $3.9801 trillion in fiscal 2015; $4.0898 trillion in fiscal 2016; and $4.2474 trillion in fiscal 2017.
According to the Biden Conjecture, all that spending saves money in the long run.

makes me wonder if there is anyone in the administration that has a head to calculate correctly what things will/would cost. now the question is how many people actually read what obamacare is and what it entails? pelosi when asked about obamacare said if you want to know what's in it, you have to vote for it first......and since they voted for it, who has bothered to read it? I have a feeling most thought that since it didn't affect them, why waste their time. it shows that elected officials do not care about their constituents. as far as biden's comments i just remember who is saying it and toss it out the window.....he wanted better gun control as the same time he tells his wife that if something in the woods scares her, she should just shoot. convoluted!

Obamacare Could Mean $3K Incentive to Hire Immigrants
Thursday, 18 Apr 2013 11:58 AM - By Sandy Fitzgerald

Passage of the new bipartisan immigration reform bill could mean a $3,000 per year incentive for employers who choose a newly legal immigrant over a U.S. citizen.

The bill unveiled Wednesday says people who are granted provisional legal status will be treated the same as people “not lawfully present” under Obamacare guidelines, Investor's Business Daily reports.

This means that provisionally legal immigrants will not be eligible for Obamacare tax credits or required to pay a tax penalty for failing to get health insurance – and employers won't be fined for not providing them with affordable health coverage.

Employers who don't offer insurance face fines based on full-time staffing levels, regardless of whether the workers are immigrants or U.S. citizens. However, employers who offer insurance can face fines if the coverage costs workers more than 9.5 percent of their pay. If the insurance is too costly, the worker will become eligible for Obamacare.

The employer then would be charged by the government, up to $3,000 per full-time worker who receives Obamacare subsidies. But since legalized immigrants wouldn't be eligible for Obamacare, their employers would not fined for hiring them and not subsidizing their insurance coverage.

"A playing field tilted toward legalized immigrants is surely not what the bipartisan group of Senators intended, and it may be possible to craft a legislative fix. But it may not be simple, either politically or administratively," Investor's Business Daily reported.

I just called my senator's office since he is one of the gang of 8 (almost sounds like a lynch mob). according to his page it is better to call which i did not find fruitful. their numbers seem to be designed that after ringing a certain number of times it goes to busy. I did call back and got the receptionist who took down my name and number and told me that hopefully someone would contact me. my reply was I will not hold my breath. I have mailed this senator in the past and usually I do not get a response but the one time I did, his reply had nothing to do with what I questioned him about. Ignorance is bliss? turn a deaf ear?

I just called my state senator (much better reception) and they will try on my behave to get my questions answered...and perhaps get the senators office to call me.

Obamacare May Put Some Unions Out of Business
The subsidies will undercut their biggest selling point
by Megan McArdle Apr 18, 2013 10:19 AM EDT

Yesterday I asked whether Big Labor was turning on Obamacare, after the Roofer's union called for its repeal. This morning I got to talk to an expert who pointed out that the roofers are in a particularly unattractive position. Roofing companies are mostly small shops, which makes them hard to organize. And it just got much harder, because now open-shop roofing companies are essentially getting subsidized health insurance for their employees.

Under Obamacare, small firms don't have to provide insurance to their employees. That probably describes most of the non-union roofing firms in the country. Meanwhile, non-union roofers are going to be eligible for heavily subsidized insurance on the exchanges. Union workers get the health insurance, but no subsidy. This will mean one of two things:

    1. Union workers will get paid less than non-union workers, as wages are diverted to cover the union health plan.

    2. Union firms will have higher costs than non-union firms, as they cover the extra cost of an unsubsidized union health plan.

Either way is bad news: it will be difficult to recruit new workers, and/or difficult to find work for the people in the union. No wonder the union is freaking out.

But while their situation may be particularly bad, it's hardly unique. There are a lot of unions whose workers are increasingly in competition with small, open-shop firms. And it seems that Obamacare may threaten their continued existence. It's also probably the final nail in the coffin of the oft-expressed hope that folks like the SEIU will find a way to expand unionization in the service industry. Benefits are one of the major ways that unions recruit and retain members. And there's no way that they can compete for low-wage workers with the heavy subsidies the government is offering.

It would be ironic indeed if many of the private sector unions who supported Obamacare (with the promise that these problems would later be fixed) had actually signed their own death warrant. But it seems this may be what has happened. There's no money in the budget for the government to extend subsidies to the union plans, or exempt them from the various coverage expansions and taxes. And there's no money in the union coffers to compete with the government subsidies that have already been enacted.

Budget? What budget? Obama and the democrats don't have a stinkin' budget. And Ben Bernanke aka "Santa Claus on Steroids and Meth" has been printing plenty of money. So if some of the unions go out of business, it will be by design, not accident. Wonder if anyone in them is smart enough to see that?

    ...

It took, what, nearly 4 years before they were shamed into finally passing a budget. They were forced to play their hand and so had to reveal to the American people how much additional borrowed money they plan to spend. Here's a financial tip - hold on to your wallet, because all that borrowed money will have to be paid back with interest. But, who cares about the next generation as long as we can stick it to them and enjoy the ride?

    ...

In other news, Diana Temple-Raston in NPR’s All Things Considered blames the Boston Marathon bombing on Right Wingers celebrating Hitler’s birthday.

    ...

The 2014 Elections are going to be inpacted one way or another due to Obamacare. It is slightly unpopular now but depending on how the implementation is handled, it may become wildly unpopular.

The article http://obamacareaca.com/obamacare/he...th-the-joness/ discusses what to look for in the next several months and how it will affect the election of 2014...and maybe beyond

    ...

One more unintended consequences of the ill drafted law. And it is bad news for the Democrats who passed the law, if it becomes reality, as one the modern pillars of the Democrats is unions. Personally I will not be too sad if unions go out of business as their structure has outlived their purpose.

    Beyond Comprehension
    Posted on April 20 2013

In one week alone, Obamacare champions Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.) and Cheerleader-In-Chief Kathleen Sebelius, Health & Human Services Secretary, have described Obamacare as:

    “Complex”

    “Complicated”

    “Confusing”

    “Beyond comprehension”

Remember, folks: these are the people who claim its GOOD IDEA for America! And Sebelius is even going so far as to blame the GOP for it. Many of them share equal blame with the Democrats for Obamacare still being around, as they haven’t done a thing to get rid of it. But the meat and bones of this terrible legislation still very much belong to the Democrats, who shoved it through four years ago without caring about the consequences we are now starting to see.

Wow, guess what? It is going to be WAY more expensive than we were led to believe. The Hill reports:

“Setting up insurance exchanges is costing the Health and Human Services Department a whole lot more than it originally expected. According to budget documents released Wednesday, the department expects to spend $4.4 billion on exchange grants to the states by the end of this year — double its estimates a year ago.

The HHS is also asking Congress for another $1.5 billion to set up a federal exchange in 26 states. The department has cobbled together money from other programs to get started, but officials said they need another $800 million for operational costs and $550 million for outreach and education.”
Many States, including Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming, have told the federal government they would not be enforcing new Obamacare rules. But they have been put on notice that Obama’s agents will come in on a “collaborative enforcement arrangement” and make sure they do.

Obama is using the heavy hand of the feds to ignore the wishes of the American people. Every day we see more reasons why it should be repealed, and more Democrats jump on record to stop some of its provisions or criticize it outright.

Why, exactly, is this legislation still in place if nearly everyone—including Democrats who crafted it and voted for it—believes it is a bad idea?

Your taxes and premiums are going up, your deductions are going down, and healthcare workers are fleeing the field like there is a fire. Now is the time to let every single Member of Congress know that we are serious about repealing Obamacare, and they need to get on board with the wishes of American citizens. We must also let them know we will not stand for the President of the United States completely ignoring our constitutional rights.

Obamacare may ultimately be overturned in the courts, but right now we need to persuade Congress to cut off funds to it and stop the disastrous consequences.
