Palin Quitting in a Month
Just heard this on CNN, no news story in print yet
Not only will she not run for a second term, but she's supposedly quitting in about a month.
This is all I can find so far

Palin Quitting Governorship in Alaska
WASILLA (CBS) -- At an 11:00 a.m. press conference today, Governor Sarah Palin announced that she would not seek a second term as governor. The governor continued saying in a few weeks she would resign the governorship.
On a day that most public employees have off, Palin sent out an early morning press release indicating that she would be giving an announcement from her home in Wasilla. Joining Palin were her parents, family and state commissioners.
Palin did not field questions and would not give any indications as to her future plans.
Palin announced that she will transfer power to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell. Parnell will be sworn in during the upcoming governor's picnic in Fairbanks. An emotionally choked-up Parnell said he plans to keep all state commissioners.
The conference is on CNN now, she's playing the victim as usual. So glad she isn't the VP.

I think she has a rright to be upset with some of the things people said about her during the election. Theres no need to personally insult people during an election. Why not run on your views and ideas instead of the personal insults.

And who wouldn't blame her? ..but, by the same token....is that who one wants in the president's office?
Should be interesting.......
Who was the pressidential candidate a few years back that suddenly withdrew claiming threats were made on his life? I keep thinking Perrone, but I don't think that's right....hmmmm
ETA Is was Ross Perot.......
Quote:
By the summer Perot commanded a lead in the presidential race with 39 percent of the vote,[13] but on July 16, Perot unexpectedly dropped out.[14] Perot eventually stated the reason was that he received threats that digitally altered photos would be released by the Bush campaign to sabotage his daughter's wedding.[15] Regardless of the reasonings for the drop-out, his reputation was damaged. Many of his supporters felt betrayed and public opinion polls would subsequently show a large negative view of Perot that was absent prior.[16]

If this was the case then it's fortunate that she lost. You need to stand up to the pressure. It must be disappointing to the citizens of Alaska to have her quit the job that they elected her to do.
I'm hoping that there's nothing wrong with her or any of her family and this is the reason she's quitting her job.
She seemed a little different in her speech, like there is something weighing on her. I don't know what it is, family, scandal, who knows.

If that was the case it's not a good enough reason when you've taken an oath to represent the people of Alaska.

I take her at her word that the constant attacks on her and the constant legal battles over ridiculas things were taking too much time away from her job as governor.
I find it very amusing that the people that want to attack her the most are the ones that backed a Chicago politician. People seemed to give him a pass over everything from his ties to Rezko to his campaign giving money directly to ACORN and billed it to lighting. Obama made it clear during his campaign he was into socialism and redistribution of wealth. Taking from those that work and save and giving to those that don't want to work.
I like Sarah Palin because she stands for American values.
