I think we're all aware of all the taxes that are imposed on utility bills, phones bills, gas, certain food items, income ect. Have you just figured this out, I mean this has been going on forever.............
To say the government is now wasting tax money, where have you been? Your very naieve to believe that Obama is the 1st POTUS to waste our tax dollars!

Just because it is does not mean it should be. We'll see how you feel IF this bill passes and you get your power bill, gas skyrockets and it comes to you having to grow your own food and there are no jobs because our government wants complete and total control over everyone and all for the sake of padding their own pockets.

No it doesn't make it right, but it also not right to act like Obama is 1st to this either.

Following the money, connecting the dots:
Gwinnett Place Mall shut down the Atlanta Tea Party.
Simon Property Group owns Gwinnett Place Mall.
Melvin Simon (a Forbes 400 billionaire) is Co-chairman of Simon Property Group, Inc.
Melvin Simon has provided large political contributions to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Franken, John Edwards, the DNC and many other Democrats and Democrat organizations.
Melvin Simon was a major contributor to Barack Obama inaugural committee and has given at least $1 million to the William J. Clinton foundation.
Melvin's wife, Bren, personally donated almost $100,000 to various political candidates, was a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, and contributed to President Obama's inaugural committee.

I don't understand why they didn't just change the venue? Apply for a permit and do it on public property. Real simple. I would have loved them to had it. Heck we might even have gone by to check it out. It isn't fair from me at all. Whomever is the organizer, they need to get their stuff together. They sure have caused enough problems, yet no one wants to blame them. I guess Obama is just an easy target. One must keep their agenda up.

Well you see I will never encounter this food, power & gas problem. I solved my gas problem last year with buying a scooter, 117 miles to the tank & my hubby has a Harley. After paying $5 a gallon for diesel all the last year for our 4x4 truck, something had to be done. Actions speak louder than words & sounds you need to do some planning now if you believe what your preaching here.
My husband & I are both retired & had planned well ahead for our retirement years, we have a very nice pension & ss# coming in & I don't forsee us having these problems you speak of.

My 2 cents-the tea parties are a great idea, after all this is America and we should have the right to protest whatever. However, this one was just poorly organized. The mall was well within their rights to not want a political protest or demonstration or whatever you want to call it there. I agree w/Mary that they should have moved it to a public place. Maybe it's too late for that but again the organizer's fault not Obama's for sure.
DH and I own a commercial property which is located in a strip mall. There are very strict rules and regulations as to what kind of business can operate from there and the hours it can keep. So even though we own the property itself we are bound by the covenants and rules of the stripmall. Controversy of any kind is not good for mainstream businesses. I'm sure they were just protecting their business interests as well as the business interest of their tenants.
Oh yeah, before anyone asks, our property is a restaurant right now (nothing bad). LOL
