July 4 Atlanta Tea Party Cancelled
Jason Lee
The Atlanta Tea Party was forced to cancel its Independence Day celebration in Gwinnett, after losing its location due to the objection of Gwinnett Place Mall (a Simon company.) The Tea Party had been scheduled to take place in the parking lot of the old Macy's building at Gwinnett Place since March.
With just a few days left until the Fourth of July Tea Parties begin, this is very unfortunate timing! One wonders why Simon Property Group waited until now to interfere.
"Gwinnett Place Mall shut down the Atlanta Tea Party."

What I don't understand is why they didn't choose a better location. Or even apply for a permit for a "march". Why wasn't the venue ok'd before they decided to announce they were going to do it? Seems like poor planning to me. If they want to have a little tea party then they should be allowed to but, appropriate plans should be made.

All the arrangements were made with the property owner back in March of this year.

Obviously not! If it were approved then why all the sudden would they not allow it? Doesn't make any sense. Seems like alot of assumptions going on.

If one of the "conservatives" here made a comment about an Obama/Acorn rally ... how long would it take for some to start yelling about "hatred" and "racist" and "repression" ect ect ect ad nausem ? :tictoc:

The 4th of July is the perfect time to have a TEA Party, which was the original date that was agreed upon until some decided to go ahead with the TEA Parties on earlier dates. I don't know about you guys, but I am tired of being taxed out the arse for everything.

I don't know about that, not everyone has the time to read everything you post, I know I certainly don't & it's usually far right mumbo jumbo, which is not useful to me!

Each of us needs to read both the "right" and the "left" mumbo jumbo as you call it. That is the only way to understand the truth of things. If you rely on only one side of the story you are in for a major surprise. To down and out disregard something because it comes from those that you do not agree with is a mistake.
I like to read from both sides and then use that as reference to search for the truth of the story. I have learned a lot that way.

If he agreed to let them then why change his mind. It sounds like someone talked him out of it, but I think its wrong for him to wait till right before it was supposed to happen to back out. And I think its strange that people think its wrong for people to protest something they feel so strongly about,
