Post ACORN Vegas Office Raided in Voter Fraud Investigation

AP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday, October 07, 2008

LAS VEGAS -- Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.

A Nevada secretary of state's office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.

No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.

Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names.

The raid comes two months after state and federal authorities formed a task force to pursue election-fraud allegations in Nevada.

They can register with hundreds of false names. No one checks your identity at the voting places. One person can vote hundreds of times. This should make us all mad.

they check where I live... not sure about where you live.

what they don't probably check is absentee ballots.

Arrow Don't care if your Democrat or Republican

This is just wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong!

Why can't people just follow the ... you know, ... things put in place to make everything fair... and like I tell my kids, just because someone else cheated, still doesn't make it right for you to cheat, even if that means losing. I'd rather have my dignity.

1 person, 1 vote. Don't disenfranchise anyone. If your candidate is that good, than by God, he/she will get elected.

I didn't support Al Gore, however, I did feel for the people in Florida. If my vote didn't count here in Nebraska, I would have been raising holy cain too!

Nope, this is ACORN so it's all liberal---all Dems all the way. I guess that makes it ok.

Wasn't it in Ohio a few years ago where hundreds of voters were registered to vote, and they were found to be deceased.

I go into the voting place, tell them my name, they find it in the book, I sign my name and go vote. Easy as that. They don't know if I made up the name or not.

I think now we should have to show a picture ID. Fraud will still be possible but harder to get away with it.

I'm glad they're catching up with the fraud.

We have to show picture ID and sign "The Voter Registration" book, prior to voting.
