Fraud, discrimination claims roil huge voter registration
BY BILL DOLAN bdolan@nwitimes.com Tuesday, October 07, 2008 CROWN POINT | New voter registrations closed Monday in Lake County with possible record-breaking numbers and simmering allegations of fraud and racial discrimination. Elections board Director Sally LaSota said more than 12,000 voter registration forms are waiting to be processed from recent days before the county knows how many potential voters are ready to cast ballots in the Nov. 4 general election. "It may be a record," she said. Porter County has processed at least 3,500 voter applications since the spring primary in May, officials there said. However, the large influx has brought new controversies. LaSota said Monday representatives of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, a grassroots activist group conducting registration drives, dropped off 2,000 new voter applications last week in Lake County. "About 1,100 are no good," she said. LaSota said the flawed forms are incomplete or contain unreadable handwriting -- similar to hundreds of other forms ACORN produced prior to this week. She said some ACORN vote canvassers apparently pulled names and addresses from telephone books and forged signatures. Charles Jackson, communications director for ACORN, said Monday its administrators screened out the 1,100 registration forms in question and warned county officials the documents were suspect. He said ACORN left the final decision to discard the forms to county officials. He said ACORN has fired and reported to law enforcement any employees suspected of vote fraud. "We consider it stealing from ACORN," Jackson said. Lake County Republican Chairman John Curley said Monday the ACORN registration drive is the main reason he opposes the opening of early voting centers in Gary, Hammond and East Chicago. He filed a lawsuit last week in state and federal courts to stop the three branch offices from opening Monday. County officials agreed last week to delay opening the early locations until U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Van Bokkelen rules on the matter later this week. Curley said opening too many early voting locations would strain the county election staff's efforts to stop people from using fraudulent registrations. Jay Kenworth, a spokesman for the Indiana Republican Party said Monday, "We are obviously deeply disturbed by the news of these fraudulent registrations." An attorney for the Indiana State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, filed papers in federal court alleging Curley's opposition to early voting was an unconstitutional to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters of the county. Registration details Today is the last official day to register in Illinois to vote on Nov. 4. There will be a grace period from Wednesday through Oct. 21 at the Chicago Board of Election office at 69 W. Washington St. in Chicago. Ballots can be cast at the same time. If you live in Chicago, check your registration status at http://chicagoelections.com. If you live in suburban Cook or Will counties, find links to those sites on the chicagoelections home page. http://www.thetimesonline.com/articl...da008320af.txt

I hope anyone casting their votes early will have them thrown out later. They are not above the law and the law says, NOV 4th is the election.

Vote Early & Often?
105% of Indianapolis Residents Now Registered to Vote It's the elephant in the room that Indiana election officials don't talk about. Voter registration numbers in the counties have been growing dramatically far above what is possible given the population. In today's Indianapolis Star, Brendan O'Shaughnessy reports that as of Monday evening 677,401 people in Marion County have registered to vote. Many reporters covering voter registration stories will take the population of the state/county and then, by doing some math, the reporter dutifully reports that 75% or so of the population is registered in that state are registered. As I noted previously, this approach fails to consider the under 18 year old voters in that county or state who can't be registered to vote. As I reported a month or so ago in my post "No Hoosier Left Unregistered," when you back out the under 18 year old residents, Indiana is near 94% registration levels. And that was with more than a month left in the registration period. I knew that the numbers would start exceeding 100% at some point and the election officials couldn't keep ignoring the elephant in the room - how do you have more registered voters than people eligible to vote? Well Indianapolis has now reached that point. Let's do the math. According to STATSIndiana, In 2007, Indianapolis/Marion County had an estimated population of 876,804. Of that number 232,607 were below 18 years of age, for a total of 644,197 people in Marion County/Indianapolis 18 or over and thus eligible to vote. (Indiana allows felons to vote as long as they are not incarcerated). So we have 644,197 people eligible to be registered in Marion County/Indianapolis, and 677,401 people registered. Congratulations go to Indianapolis for having 105% of its residents registered! Obviously the effort at eliminating duplicate registrations is not working well. Bloated registration rolls lead to the possibility of election fraud and undermines the confidence in the integrity of the electoral process. This is a situation that needs to be addressed by state and county election officials. http://www.ogdenonpolitics.com/2008/...s-bloated.html

Even CNN call them a liberal activist group
It seems as if ACORN is slowly losing their "Non-partisian" status even among more liberal news stations. CNN calls it like it is (as most of us conservatives have known for years) There is NOTHING "non-partisian" about ACORN. This Federally funded, left leaning, fraud driven Barack funded liberal organization, is a mess. This election is going to be a joke, based on tens of thousands of fraudulant registrations in battleground states. In some states, more people are registered to vote than live in a community. What do you want to guess those are votes for the Democrat party.
CROWN POINT, Indiana (CNN) -- More than 2,000 voter registration forms filed in northern Indiana's Lake County by a liberal activist group this week have turned out to be bogus, election officials said Thursday. The group -- the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN -- already faces allegations of filing fraudulent voter registrations in Nevada and faces investigations in other states. And in Lake County, home to the long-depressed steel town of Gary, the bipartisan Elections Board has stopped processing a stack of about 5,000 applications delivered just before the October 6 registration deadline after the first 2,100 turned out to be phony. "All the signatures looked exactly the same," Ruthann Hoagland, a Republican on the board. "Everything on the card filled out looks exactly the same." The forms included registrations submitted in the names of the dead -- and in one case, the name of a fast-food restaurant, Jimmy Johns. Sally LaSota, a Democrat on the board, called the forms fraudulent and said whoever filed them broke the law. "ACORN, with its intent, perhaps was good in the beginning, but went awry somewhere," LaSota said. Over the past four years, a dozen states have investigated complaints of fraudulent registrations filed by ACORN. On Tuesday, Nevada authorities raided an ACORN office in Las Vegas, Nevada, where workers are accused of registering members of the Dallas Cowboys football team. And the group has become the target of Republican attacks on voter fraud, a perennial GOP issue. A subsidiary of the group was paid $800,000 by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign to register voters for the 2008 primaries, and ACORN's political wing endorsed Obama back in February. But Obama's campaign told CNN that it "is committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process," and said it has not worked with ACORN during the general election. Brian Mellor, an ACORN attorney in Boston, said the group has its own quality-control process and has fired workers in the past -- including workers in Gary. But he said allegations that his organization committed fraud is a government attempt to keep people disenfranchised. "We believe their purpose is to attack ACORN and suppress votes," Mellor said. "We believe that by attacking ACORN, they are going to discourage people that have registered to vote with ACORN from voting." CNN was unable to reach ACORN officials in Gary and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the group's Indiana operation is based. Offices in both cities were empty when reporters visited. Lake County elections officials have set aside all 5,000 of the ACORN-submitted applications in what Hoagland called the "fake pile" for later review. But she said every one will be reviewed before the election to make sure no legitimate voters are skipped. There has been no evidence of voter fraud yet, because voters have yet to go to the polls. But elections officials say they will be sending their information to prosecutors, who will determine whether any investigation will begin. "We have no idea what the motive behind it is," she said. "It's just overwhelming to us." Well....duh, lets think about what a possible motive could be....... http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/...ef=mpstoryview

“Watch Ohio.”
Well, there’s news breaking tonight — and it’s good news for election integrity. A federal district court judge has found Democrat Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner guilty of violating federal election laws. The ruling goes to the heart of the ACORN-centered voter fraud epidemic spreading across the country. This is the second judgment against Brunner. Here’s the press release from the Ohio GOP: Quote:

Now, watch this. Shelby Holliday continues to do terrific work from Ohio for Palestra.net. She’s got a new interview with a girl who fell victim to Acorn’s aggressive registration drive campaign. http://www.palestra.net/videos/play/16859 Takeaway quote: “I can’t even count how many registrations I filled out!” Quote:

Is ACORN attempting to steal the election?
In case you haven't heard, this left wing organization that supports Obama (using 500 mil of our tax dollars) is now being investigated for voter fraud in 12 states, all of which are swing states.
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5...KLTagGiaNFa5pA McCain has an add out now. http://www.johnmccain.com/videolanding/acorn1.htm |

Well since I have seen several interviews with people signing up so many times. Seen interview on friday and one guy(Reggie Jackson) said he regirstered 70 times. Acorn paid him cash and cigerettes for him to regirster and vote. Others seen anywhere from 9 to 17 times. Not sure how you can explain what they are doing if not voter fraud.

We need to email our senators and representatives to have them put a stop to this voter fraud.
Mine all happen to be democrats but I did point out that this voter fraud does make the whole party seem corrupt. |
