Headline Confuses 'Obama,' 'Osama'

DETROIT -- The editor and publisher of The Detroit News says he has apologized for a headline error made in early morning editions about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Jonathan Wolman says the headline incorrectly read "Clinton, Osama meet to discuss unity" and appeared Friday on page 17A of about 45,000 newspapers distributed north and west of downtown Detroit.

Wolman says the error was the result of a wrong choice made during a spell-check search and was caught and corrected about 20 minutes after the newspaper began publishing.

Wolman says the newspaper "made an immediate fix, even with papers on the press, and we have apologized."

He says his apology was "graciously" accepted Friday by Obama's campaign. Obama campaign spokeswoman Amy Brundage also says the campaign has accepted the apology.

The News plans to run a correction Saturday on page 2A.

Yes indeed. First off I dont believe it was a "simple typo" second, in a situation like this all it does is feed on peoples fears, unrealistic fears.

This is a man running for the President of the United States and because of that we dont need Newspapers typing out his name wrong to make people think he's aligned with terrorists.

It's possible it could of been an honest misstake,

But the fact is that Obama's father was a Muslim they say no proof exsist that proves he was a Radical Muslim how ever looking at his father name which is Barack Hussein Obama SR. and Barack Hussein Obama real name would bring up questions.
