Not only the father religions but his views. I have seen siturations where the child had no contact but yet some how the views of the father are imprinted on the child. I can't explain this but it happens. Not always the case but it happens.

Which leads me back to Obama's church sort of siturations and other things.

Obama's father was raised amongst Muslims while an adolescent in Kenya, but became an atheist. Barack saw his father once after his parents separation and eventual divorce at the age of two. He was not raised in a religious household.

Barack's spokesperson has stated the Muslim "rumors" started due to the fact that when Barack was enrolled in kindergarten in Jakarta at a CATHOLIC school, the religion of Muslim was listed as that is predominant religion of Indonesia. Barack and his mother left Hawaii to be with his Indonesian stepfather in Jakarta. I seriously doubt a devout Muslim stepfather would have his stepchild enrolled in a CATHOLIC school, if that were of a conflicting belief system.

I am currently reading Barack's book "Dreams from my Father". The info I have provided is collaborated by the book, which was written well before his run for U.S. Senator, much less U.S. President.

I would feel much better about him if he hadn't been raised in such a dysfunctional home. Not his fault but it did affect his identity. He doesn't even say he is white but he is half white. Maybe it's just our society but it seems he would rather have a black identity. It might be so he will be the first black president and he is playing that up. It shouldn't really matter if we were really color blind.

He is definitely in between two worlds. Half white and black. Father Muslim and mother something else but I'm not sure. It does affect a person and how they react to the world.

Personally, I think this is a GOOD thing! We don't need another President with a narrow mind, who thinks there is only one way to think/act. We need someone with an understanding of how the rest of the world works, of how we are viewed by other people, of how we can get along with others. We can't afford another limited, parochial POTUS!

But why do I even bother? Some people are determined to fit the facts to their ideas, rather than the see reality.

That would be fine if it were true. But he doesn't see himself as bi-racial, only black. Either he or the media are playing up the black part and downplaying his racial identity.
