I dont own a gun and most likely never will but the ppl that I know have them not to scare someone but for protection in case of break ins and things like that

Think about this.
You're going to rob a gas station. You see 4 people inside. Statistically now 1 in 4 people carry a concealed weapon. Do you chance it, knowing that more than likely AT LEAST one person has the ability to kill you?
No. They would think twice about it.
Right now, the chances of a person in the gas station carrying are slim. Out of four hundred people walking through, maybe 2 a day carry a weapon. Thats why so many crimes are committed. The police come after the fact. The criminals know that.
No one has the ability to protect themselves. I say turn it around back on them.
Pep, its obvious that you are scared of guns. Instead of being scared, educate yourself. You'd see quite quickly that taking away guns is not the answer. There are too many people who require a gun on a daily basis (and no, im not talking police) to take them away. There will always be guns.
Educate yourself. You take away any power they have at that point.

My gun made a guy let me go when he had me pinned up against a fence, behind a dumpster, at knife point a few years ago. And it kept 2 people from being robbed at a bus stop one day.
And about 17 years ago, my gun (plus shooting him in the arm), kept me from getting raped.
And just seeing it sticking out the back waistband of my pants can be a deterrent.

LOL! The rednecks back home were just as bad, that's where I lived when I had to shoot that guy in the arm.
The guy with the knife is when I had to do security patrol at the apts I managed and yes, I moved from there!

You'd be wrong....I'm scared of stupid people with guns.....It's only logical that the more of them out there, the more accidents there will be.
Go re-read, if we had 'smart guns' with fingerprint recognition (for example), then only that person would be able to use that gun, not his next door neighbors toddler son that came to visit. I think the systems and requirements need to be changed.
