Since we know that there are white hating groups on the internet bragging about what those filthy, savage creatures did to those innocent children I wish that they would send a CLEAR LOUD message to all of those thugs in the WAY that they punish. It would be the best deterrent of all.

Any person that thinks they are superior to all others is by nature evil. Lets not get so angry towards blacks that we forget that there are plenty of white guys who would like to rape a black girl. That being said, This is one of the worst cases of hate I have ever heard of.

Jacque Patrick Fitzgerald (Knoxville) - St. Nicolas Thief, president and founder of Black Poverty Speaks, along with many local Knoxville blacks who live in the Washington Pike area has organized a social action protest celebration championing Lemaricus Davidson and Letalvis Cobbins.

Davidson and Cobbins are the brothers and two of the five suspects charged in the carjacking, kidnapping, rape and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

"We're coordinating the celebration to to jive with the march angry whites are planning in memory of the victims and because of the 'media black-out' they note the case is receiving from national news networks," Thief, who is currently stationed in Knoxville, said.

"We're celebrating underprivileged Knoxville blacks who victimize privileged Knoxville whites," he added.

"If you come down here, you're either visiting someone or you're buying drugs," said, Misty Boshears, 31, who lives near Washington Pike. "I'm shocked, but I'm not shocked," of Christian and Newsom's murders, Boshears said. "I don't allow my girl to play outside because of the danger."

Another neighbor, Carl Hunley, who lives next door to the house where Christian's body was found, said three weeks prior to Christian's body being discovered, there was a drive-by shooting at the house.

"These are the kinds of communities we live in all throughout this country," St. Nicolas Thief said. "These communities are the legacies of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.

"That whites' ancestors and the government hasn't and doesn't educate whites on how the legacy of slavery has created the impoverished conditions that do continue to influence and trap our people doesn't mean we have to excuse their ignorance.

"There's going to be a party in Knoxville and America everytime black poverty speaks and privileged whites suffer."

You know there was a similar crime that took place in Wichita KS a few years back that was very similar and the criminals were african american, the news did not want to cover it either due to the graphic nature. It is a one way street if a group of caucasian individuals violated a couple of african americans you know it would make the top news. What is wrong with our country?? The media sucks.

Knoxville (WVLT) - The events of January 8th, 2007 turned the lives of two families upside down...

A young couple, 21-year-old Channon Christian and 23-year-old Christopher Newsom were brutally murdered when five suspects allegedly carjacked, raped and killed them. Volunteer TV spoke with Christopher's family on Monday who say even four and a half months later...losing their son is still no easier to deal with. "He just really enjoyed life and that's what hurts so bad that his life was taken away and he was way too young for that," Mary Newsom says.

As Chris Newsom's parents imagine what may have happened one fateful day in January... "I sit in that chair at night and look over at that picture and I just cry... tears roll down my cheeks... I think of what they did to him... him just laying there burned," Mary says.

They lean on each other... reading each other's thoughts... finishing the other's sentences... "Both of them suffered... tremendously... they had to... in their last hours of life," Hugh & Mary Newsom say.

As they support each other... they are also supporting a promise they both made to Chris in death. "I would be present when any one of those animals made their appearance. I would be there to represent him and I intend to keep that promise," Hugh says.

But they say even justice won't help them heal completely. "We're all trying to get through this and recover, but there's not gonna be any closure," Mary says.

They receive love, prayers and support from every direction... they also say they knew Chris died trying to protect his soulmate -- Channon Christian. "He was so much in love with her. That compounds our loss," Hugh says. "He had golfed all that day and came home to change... and had a big smile on his face when he came down the stairs and we knew he had a date with her," Mary says.

But her family -- Channon Christian's family -- helps them heal... "They're the only ones who can really understand the way we feel, because they know we feel the same way," Mary says.

And the Newsom's find a different strength in their own family... "We have three other children and grandchildren and we have to go on for them," Hugh says.

With each day that passes... Chris's memory lives on in the Newsom home... through pictures... through smiles... through the many, many, memories. "He was either at the golf course, or he was out fishing or he was playing tennis... or with Channon," Mary says.

Now they believe he's with Channon... and will be forever.

The Newsom family asks for your prayers, support, even from those they don't know, is helping them heal.
