Re: Where do you live...?
I promise not to shove my religion down your throat if you promise I can have freedom of religion and be able to say Jesus even in horror of horrors---school. That is tolerance. Works both ways.

I have managed to stay out of this thread for the longest time but I have to post now. Janelle, my kids have been in schools both in the North and the South. They have never ever never been the denied their right to religion. I think you are taking it a bit far. Just last year the SCHOOL scheduled a prayer for my sons entire grade, if you wanted to participate then you simply walked out front and joined the circle. If you didn't you were to do what you wanted, including what your religion would do when Christians prayed. If my sons wanted to pray before they ate they are allowed. You make it sound as though anyone that is heard speaking of God's work will be shot. Its nothing like that. They just simply do NOT preach the Lords work to kids in school, say a morning prayer together etc...And to be completely honest I am glad. My sons learn these things at home and at church. I do not want other denominations teaching my child about religion. I wouldn't want, lets say a catholic teaching my child to pray, or a wiccan/pagan teaching how to cast spells, nor do I want a bible thumping religious person teaching my child the rights and wrongs of the world. Thanks but no thanks, that is MY JOB, as MOM! I do not think removing religous teachings/prayers removed from schools is the problem with society today. Its more fair to say that lack of the Lord's work at home is the problem. Less people being good parents. Television has made killing almost kool, but doesn't show that death is forever. To many "rights" for children has allowed these kids to get by with whatever they see fit. If you get in trouble at school, hands are tied by the staff, because mommy will come to the school and raise cain that little johnny was embarrassed, if they are lucky she will only be mad and not contact a lawyer. Unfortunatly, lawsuits are the problem. I am a very strong CHRISTIAN, I am against abortion, death pentalty but I am for others religious beliefs or non beliefs, I am also DEMOCRAT because I care about society as a whole and not just the almighty dollar. I do not agree with Catholic teachings and do not want that forced upon me, nor would I force my teachings upon you, yet I respect your right to practice the religion you choose whether I agree with it or not. Jesus didn't force himself on anyone, he and God want you to love them, not make you love them. By forcing ones religious beliefs on someone that doesn't want them, only makes then turn further from the Lord. If you don't believe me ask them. You allow them to see how the Lord works in your life and you make sure they know that they can always come to you with questions or thoughts on the Bible, but you never push. Eventually they will see the way the Lord has made your life good and they will want the same. They learn by seeing and feeling not by being pressured.

Re: Where do you live...?

I always love these especially the comments on the bottom.
You know (when you think about it) we all want the same thing. We just feel the solution is going to come from a differnent direction.

Re: Where do you live...?
Don't you think that's pretty rude? Especially after I apologized for it? You don't give an inch, do you? You're the REASON Christianity is being eschewed.

Re: Where do you live...?
Copy and paste? How about posting article after article after mindless article. Does Jolie have nothing more to do than sit at her computer and find articles to fit what she has to say, instead of using what she calls a brain to write her own stuff?
Honestly, you people disgust me.

Re: Where do you live...?
You can have freedom of religion, and even SAY Jesus in school. As long as I can chant with candles, use my mat and pray to the east, and cast spells, and make sacrifices in my worship of the devil. THAT is tolerance.
