Protests break out after Baton Rouge police fatally shoot man
Steph Solis, USA TODAY 10:23 a.m. EDT July 6, 2016

Protesters called for more demonstrations Wednesday following a night of unrest over the fatal shooting of a black man by police officers that was caught on video outside a Baton Rouge convenience store.

The two officers have been placed on administrative following the incident early Tuesday. The officers have not been identified.

Officers responded to the store about 12:35 a.m. Tuesday after an anonymous caller indicated a man, later identified as Alton Sterling, 37, selling music CDs and wearing a red shirt threatened him with a gun, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.

Two officers responded and some type of altercation with the man ensued. One officer fatally shot the suspect, McKneely said. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard department policy, he said.

Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-La., who called for the Department of Justice to investigate the killing, said officials claimed both officers had body cameras "but they fell off during the struggle and do not show the shooting."

OK I'm trying to understand this so called Black lives matter stuff.
What happened to Alton Sterling is tragic.
And if it's shown that the police did murder him they should be published, period.
Yet there was another Murder n Ascension, a Black man McNair chased down then shot his soon to be wife n the mouth killing her in front of witnesses. When the police came, no one saw a thing.
Now this is a black on black crime.
But what gets me is Why this Group 'the Black Lives Matter' only comes out only when there is a Cop Killing of a black male/female
But when there r Black on Black u can't find them it's like looking for an needle in the Mississippi
    I'm just asking WHY ?

For all of you half wits who need this situation spelled out for you. Here is another angle and more footage for you. NOW LETS THINK HERE PEOPLE.

    1. The police were responding to a call of a man wielding a pistol and threatening the public.

    2. They arrive and approach a man matching his description.

    3. They attempt to detain him since they have REASONABLE SUSPICION.

    4. He refuses to cooperate because he is a career criminal on parole with an illegal firearm.

    5. They shoot him with a taser in an attempt to get him to comply. Twice.

    6. Taser doesn't work, they tackle him and attempt to gain control so they can restrain him.

    7. He continues to resist and attempts getting up.

    8. The officer on his right side notices a hard object in the mans right pocket. When he investigates he discovers there's a pistol. He yells "gun"

    9. The officers tell him "don't move".

    10. He attempts to grab the pistol.

NOW WAIT! Before you argue. You can clearly hear the officer say "he's going for the gun"

    11. Shots are fired.

    12. He still attempts to get up (and possibly grab the weapon again)

    13. Shots are fired again.

There's your play by play people.

Alton Sterling Shooting by Police in Baton Rouge Sets Off Protests

Shooting in Baton Rouge: What we know
John Bacon, USA TODAY 9:35 p.m. EDT July 6, 2016

Police in Baton Rouge fatally shot a black man outside a convenience store early Tuesday in a confrontation recorded by a bystander whose video has gone viral.

The shooting has prompted peaceful protests and a federal civil rights investigation. Here is what we know:

    How did the altercation begin?

Police say officers Blane Salamoni, a four-year member of the department and Howie Lake II, three years, responded to an anonymous call from someone claiming a man selling CDs outside a Triple S Food Mart threatened him with a gun. After police arrived, some type of struggle ensued and Alton Sterling, 37, was fatally shot in the chest and back. The officers were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

What does video of the confrontation show?

Cellphone footage circulating on social media appears to capture the encounter. "Get on the ground, get on the ground!" one officer shouts at the outset of the video clip. A second officer tackles Sterling, who appears to be pinned down when an officer yells, "He's got a gun! Gun!" The other officer then draws his service weapon and fires at Sterling.

Congressman Cedric Richmond, D-LA, said both officers were wearing body cameras, but they fell off during the struggle and do not show the shooting. He said police are analyzing dash cam video and store surveillance video, which are believed to have captured the ordeal.

    Was Sterling armed?

The store’s owner, Abdul Muflahi, told WAFB-TV that Sterling did not have a gun in his hand but he saw officers remove a gun from Sterling’s pocket after the shooting.

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar C. Moore III on Wednesday said he and his staff watched interviews of the two officers with internal investigators. He said the two officers "feel they were completely justified” in shooting Sterling, the Advocate reported.

Is carrying a gun legal in Louisiana?

Louisiana is an "open carry" state, meaning people can be armed with a gun in plain sight. There are exceptions, such as for felons and people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence.

    Who was Alton Sterling?

Sterling was a father who appeared to be well known in the neighborhood. He also had a lengthy arrest record and was a registered sex offender since being convicted on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in September 2000. Family members urged the public not to judge him on his criminal record, saying he had paid his dues.

Mufleh Alatiyat, 25, who worked at the convenience store, told the Associated Press Sterling was generous, often giving away CDs or buying food or drink for people. “He was a very nice guy,” Alatiyat said. “He helped a lot of people.”

Who will be conducting the investigation?

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Wednesday that the U.S. Justice Department's Civil Rights Division will lead the investigation. The FBI, Louisiana State Police and local officials will aid the probe, he said.

What has the reaction been to the shooting?

Residents protested on and off throughout the day Tuesday. Demonstrators chanted, "hands up, don't shoot" and "black lives matter." More protests are planned for Wednesday. Michael McClanahan, head of the NAACP in Baton Rouge, said Police Chief Carl Dabadie, Jr. should resign or be fired: “I demand the chief be fired immediately. I demand that he resign if he has the guts.”

    The Rev. Jesse Jackson tweeted:
"The shooting of #AltonSterling in #BatonRouge is a legal lynching.
    Justice must prevail. #Outraged."

Gov. Edwards called the video "disturbing to say the least." State Rep. C. Denise Marcelle, D-Baton Rouge, is calling on Louisiana State Police to take over the investigation. Richmond is calling for a probe by the U.S. Justice Department.

ou may have noticed the #AltonSterling trending. Who is Alton Sterling? Good question. Details about him are still emerging. But before all the facts are known, the left is trying to push their “police officers kill black men for sport” narrative, and are using Sterling as their next move. Here are some details, for those who aren’t yet up to speed:

Alton Sterling, a 37-year old man who sold CDs, was shot and killed by a Baton Rouge police officer Tuesday morning outside a convenience store on North Foster Drive after “some type of altercation” with two officers, officials said.

Baton Rouge police did not provide much information about what escalated the incident between the officers and Sterling or what prompted an officer to fire his weapon. A witness, however, described police as “aggressive” and said Sterling was armed but was not holding his gun or touching his pockets during the incident. Police later retrieved a gun from the man’s pocket, said the witness, shop owner Abdullah Muflahi.
I’d say we should wait for the facts to come in, but of course this is 2016 and since there was someone there with a video camera it’s too late for that now. I’m just going to point out these three things:

    1. Police were called because they were told Sterling was pointing his gun at someone and threatening to shoot. Many mainstream media outlets are failing to report that tiny detail, instead focusing on the children he’s left behind. So already this case has been painted with the “THIS IS NOTHING BUT A SENSELESS TRAGEDY” brush. And yes, it is always tragic when someone is shot. But let’s not ignore the facts.

    2. In the video (NSFW obsiously), you hear the police yelling that he had the gun. You’ll also hear the police yelling at Sterling “Don’t move!” As in, do not reach for your gun. As in, do not move. As in “we have you on the ground. Don’t reach for your gun.”

    3. Small detail, the guy was a registered sex offender. It doesn’t prove anything here, but let’s not pretend he was a choir boy.

And before everyone makes it into a race thi…ok, it’s too late for that. But a reminder, more white people get shot by police officers than black people get shot by cops. Typically a black person is shot by another black person, but we’re not supposed to talk about that.

Now, here’s a brief commentary before the world continues down its rabbit hole of stupid. Louisiana is an open carry state. You can have a gun there. Okay? Okay. But you can’t brandish your weapon and threaten people with it. It’s more than frowned upon, it’s illegal. For reasons which are self-explanatory. Okay? Okay. Further, if police are called out and ask you to do something, do it. Resisting arrest isn’t a good idea. Which you can clearly see in the video if you so choose to watch.

The people recording the video did not capture the actual shooting. That’s also key here. Should the cops have shot Sterling? We can’t know, we didn’t see what Sterling did at the moment of the shooting.

What we can say is, despite him having children, despite him selling CDs, despite him having a gun in an open carry state, if he reached for his gun as two cops had him on the ground… all those details about what a love-bunny he is doesn’t matter.

And if a white man had reached for his gun in the presence of cops, he’d be shot too. Even if he had children and sold CDs.

Hence the left’s quick move to push the narrative before facts come in. That’s not an accident. It’s a pattern. See also Ferguson, Freddie Gray, and Timir Rice.

Look we would have loved to wait for the details of this case to come in before writing about it. But the left doesn’t wait. They push the narrative as quickly as possible. We’re simply reacting to their moves here, trying to balance this out.

But patience for details, waiting for facts, none of that matters to people pushing a narrative. What matters is the continued maligning of cops. The same people, incidentally, that the left wants armed while taking away your guns.

    3. Small detail, the guy was a registered sex offender. It doesn’t prove anything here, but let’s not pretend he was a choir boy
I just ran Alton Sterling in the EBR criminal/civil records. HOLY COW!!!! He has 35 entries JUST in EBR. He's been charged with simple battery, 2nd degree battery, public intimidation, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, domestic violence, domestic violence with battery, non support, failure to register as a sex offender, possession of ecstacy, marijuana, tresspassing, illegal possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting, possession of schedule 1 drugs, felony theft, burglary of an inhabited dwelling, aggravated burglary, theft, possession of a stolen firearm, and ON and ON and ON. Half of these things - including Carnal Knowledge, he has been charged with MORE than once. It's sad when anyone dies, but this was not a good guy. And, to take the side of a well known criminal over that of a police officer is just wrong. He was a career criminal who died while he was committing a crime. He has a history of resisting and a history for possessing firearms. I hope that Baton Rouge doesn't become another Ferguson. The feds are going to lead the investigation. Good. Let them do their job. All these family press conferences and protests serve no purpose other than to inflame people and that is EXACTLY what they are trying to do.

Tonight much attention is being placed on the death of Alton Sterling, a black man who was shot by one of two police officers. Many would like to believe that the shooting of Mr. Sterling was a calculated act by two white racist police officers who were just looking for the chance to kill a black man.

This thought process flies in the face of logic. How, you might ask?

Well, let's consider what is going on with these two officers at this moment.

    1. Much of the public has prejudged them, with nothing more than a short video, to be guilty of murder.

    2. Many of their peers are second guessing their actions believing that if they were in the same situation they would have reacted differently.

    3. They are, and will be, intently interrogated by local, state, and federal investigators, looking not only for violations of law, but also of department policy. While policy violations won't result in jail time, they can very easily result in the loss of a career.

    4. Eventually, it is possible that they will face a grand jury made up of private citizens who likely have never been confronted with any type of violent act, will spend days, weeks, months, examining every move these officers made that fateful day, and make a decision without having ever walked in the shoes of a police officer.

    5. Local, state, and national media will report on every facet of their personal and professional lives, speak to countless "witnesses" that weren't even in the area when the incident occurred, and make opinionated judgements often with nothing more than conjecture. In addition, it will be reported ad nauseam, twenty-four hours a day, while their pictures continuously appear, making them an easy target for the "angry protesters". Death threats will most assuredly come in waves towards them AND their families.

    6. If indicted, they will face an intense trial whose outcome could mean a criminal conviction and prison.

    7. Even if they aren't indicted and facing criminal trial, they will certainly be subjected to a civil trial and the possibility of losing every possession that they own.

    8. Attorney fees for the criminal and civil defenses are likely to be astronomical.

    9. During the investigations, and possibly thereafter, they will not be able to work the extra details that almost all officers have to work to make ends meet. Considering their time on the force, they are probably working many extra hours each month to provide for their families.

    10. Regardless of everyone else, their harshest critics are themselves. No doubt they have played that night over in their head multiple times, often second guessing what they did, and having to live with the reality that even though they dedicated themselves to saving lives, on this night they took one.

    11. No matter the outcome, one thing is for sure, officers involved in shootings seldom remain police officers. The average number of years that a police officer stays on the force after something like this is two years. Many times they leave because of the emotional impact it has had on them, other times they leave because they financially cannot survive on an officer's salary plus the accumulated bills. Other times it is pressure from a spouse or other family members. Whatever the reason, their dream is gone.

I didn't write this to take away from the fact that another human being has died. I will not judge his worth to society, as I believe that all life is precious. I will not judge whether these officers acted correctly. I don't have, and probably never will know all of the facts. It is not my job to judge.

I simply wrote this for all of the people sitting in the comfort of their homes enjoying a peaceful night all because men and women like these two chose to forego the pleasures of a "normal" life to protect those who didn't.

If you get nothing else out of this, I hope you reconsider your back ass-ward thinking that police officers somehow "enjoy" killing anyone.

Walls Project · Today at 7:01am .. At Triple S Food Mart.

And so the glorifying of the dead begins

Alton Sterling hustled all his life, trying to scrape together enough money in $5 increments by selling copies of movies, albums and games.

A fixture in front of the Triple S Food Mart, where he was shot by a Baton Rouge police officer early Tuesday, neighbors and friends described the 37-year-old Sterling as a friendly, kind-hearted man who spent nights peddling his wares.

“If you asked Alton for the shirt off his back, he’d give it to you. Alton would give you the world,” Lorna Sterling, an aunt who helped raise him following his mother’s death, said Tuesday evening while standing in the parking lot of the store. “Alton sits out here until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning. All he did was sell his CDs and DVDs and go eat.”

A cousin who grew up with Alton Sterling described his upbringing as “a rough childhood” — his mother died in 1986 and he went on to lives with other relatives — but said he’d stayed close with his family and had a sharp sense of humor.

“He always could make you laugh,” said the cousin, Sharida Sterling, who added she thought of Alton as a brother. “You know how when something like this happens people always say good, good, good things? Well, he really was a good person. You won’t hear a bad story from nobody.”

Alton Sterling’s life was punctuated by arrests and jail terms stretching back to 1996, including an encounter with police similar to the one that ended in his death.

In May 2009, he was selling CDs outside a convenience store when a Baton Rouge officer asked if he had any weapons or drugs on him, according to a police report. Sterling didn’t answer, and the officer had him put his hands on the police car, the report said. While being frisked for weapons, Sterling tried to reach into his front left pocket for an unknown item, the officer wrote.

Sterling then tried to run from the officer, who grabbed the back of his shirt and pushed him to the ground. During the struggle, a stolen 9mm semi-automatic pistol fell from Sterling’s waist band, the report said. Officers also found a small plastic bag of suspected marijuana in Sterling’s front left pocket.

Sterling later pleaded guilty in May 2011 to illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance, and was sentenced to five years in July 2011.

Relatives said most of the crimes Sterling may have committed came while trying to eke out a living.

“He did some time in jail, got out, and came out here selling CDs, trying to make an honest living,” said Sharida Sterling.

After returning home from that prison term, Lorna Sterling said her nephew had resolved to steer clear of trouble and take care of his five children, including a set of twins. She also said his brother died about six months ago.

The owner of the Triple S Food Mart, Abdullah Muflahi, said he’d happily allowed Alton to set up shop outside his building since getting to know him about six years ago.

Cameron Sterling, Alton’s 15-year-old son, broke down in tears at a press conference Wednesday morning outside the Baton Rouge City Hall, turning away from the crowd into the embrace of supporters and shielding his face in a shirt.

His mother — Quinyetta McMillion — said anyone watching the widely circulated cell phone video of Sterling’s death “will see with your own eyes how he was killed unjustly and without regard for the lives he helped raise.”

McMillion, choking back tears herself as she spoke to reporters, said focusing on Sterling’s past mistakes “obscured the image of a man who was simply trying to earn a living to take care of his children.”

Muflahi, who witnessed and filmed the shooting outside his store, said Sterling was occasionally harassed by police officers — an account echoed by several relatives — but said there were never issues.

Robert Crosby, a contractor who did maintenance on Muflahi’s store, said he got to know Sterling at the Triple S and occasionally passed him a bit of cash.

“He’d been working hard for himself, sitting out here in 110 degree heat every day,” Crosby said. “He’d served his time and was trying to do right.”

“I’d never seen him get out of hand with anyone,” said Elvina Scott, who lives nearby and said she’d bought a CD from Sterling a few minutes before the shooting. Scott said Alton told her not to worry about paying the cash that night.

“He said, ‘I’ll get the five dollars from you tomorrow, sister,’” Scott said.

Some criminal convictions continued to haunt Alton Sterling. In a 2000 carnal knowledge of a juvenile case, Sterling pleaded guilty to having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl when he was 20 years old.

The conviction required that Sterling register as a sex offender, something Baton Rouge authorities alleged he’d failed to do in a May arrest warrant. A count of failing to register was pending against him at the time of his death, as were charges of possession of Ecstasy and marijuana

Sterling had been living at a halfway house, where he’d registered. But a probation officer who checked on him in August was told by the center manager that Sterling hadn’t lived there for two weeks. He’d also spent time living with aunts and other relatives, they said.

Vereta Lee, an East Baton Rouge school board member who said she’s known the Sterling family for years, described Alton Sterling as “a very nice, kind fellow” trying his best to provide for his family and stay out of trouble, given a tough set of circumstances — a job that kept him outside in an often rough neighborhood until late in the night.

“He wasn’t making much but enough to try to feed himself,” Lee said.

... “He’d been working hard for himself, sitting out here in 110 degree heat every day”...
But the shooting was at 2:30 AM and he was usually there - according to all other accounts - late at night and early hours of the morning.

... a job that kept him outside in an often rough neighborhood until late in the night....

The owner of the Triple S Food Mart, Abdullah Muflahi, said he’d happily allowed Alton to set up shop outside his building since getting to know him about six years ago.
Considering his store is "Ground Zero" if the protests turn out like Baltimore or Detroit.... he can't say much else.

...said Sterling was occasionally harassed by police officers...
He was arrested, tried, and convicted on multiple counts of violent behavior, and on drug charges. If you are a "habitual offender" who keeps getting caught... I don't think that is "harassment"

Sterling had been living at a halfway house, where he’d registered. But a probation officer who checked on him in August was told by the center manager that Sterling hadn’t lived there for two weeks.
He was not staying at the House - where you have to remain alcohol and drug free - for almost a year. Had not reported to his probation officer nor registered as a sex offender as required. Had as recently as three weeks ago been arrested with drugs in his pockets... same as the night he was killed.

The police didn't roll up to "harass" Sterling - they were called out because a man matching his description was waving his gun around threating to shoot someone in a disagreement.

“He wasn’t making much but enough to try to feed himself,” Lee said.
“will see with your own eyes how he was killed unjustly and without regard for the lives he helped raise.”
McMillion, choking back tears herself as she spoke to reporters, said focusing on Sterling’s past mistakes “obscured the image of a man who was simply trying to earn a living to take care of his children.”
They contradict themselves in the same article....

Cameron Sterling, Alton’s 15-year-old son, broke down in tears at a press conference Wednesday morning outside the Baton Rouge City Hall, turning away from the crowd into the embrace of supporters and shielding his face in a shirt.
This was really cruel - whom ever thought this was a good idea was looking for a dramatic "moment" and not thinking about the kid AT ALL.

To my friends and family that live out of state:

When all hell breaks loose this weekend, I need you guys to remember that THIS is not the Louisiana that I know and love.

Remember that the protests that you have seen on TV have been peaceful. They are angry, but (as of now) have not acted out in violence.

VERY credible reports are circulating that bus loads of paid protestors are on their way in to this area. When and if things go bad around here, I STILL will not blame the good people of Baton Rouge. I will blame it all on the race-baiting, violence-inciting leaders of certain groups with their own agendas that do NOT include the peaceful resolution of issues here. I'm hopeful that the people of our area chase the agenda-led, paid protestors out of town. Prayers that they think before they act out of emotion.

Please, family and friends from other areas..... remember this and pray.

The NAACP was demanding the firing of the Police Chief and resignation of the Mayor within HOURS of the incident. There are at least three cell phone videos floating around ... but only ONE is getting played. Hmmmm. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are already making their way here.

But Alton was such a good guy... Never did nuffin, except:

    9/09/96 aggravated battery

    10/31/97 2nd degree battery

    1/06/98 simple battery

    5/04/00 public intimidation

9/20/00 carnal knowledge of a juvenile

    9/04/01 domestic violence

5/24/05 burglary of an inhabited dwelling place

    7/11/05 receiving stolen things

9/12/05 burglary of inhabited dwelling place

3/17/06 simple criminal damage to property, simple robbery, simple theft, drug possession, misrepresentation during booking, simple battery, aggravated battery

4/12/06 aggravated battery, simple criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace, unauthorized entry

    4/04/08 domestic abuse battery

6/03/09 resisting an officer, drug possession, receiving stolen things, possession of stolen firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon with CDs, sound reproduction without consent ( bootleg CD's and DVD's )

10/12/09 illegal carrying of weapon, marijuana possession

8/13/15 failure to register as a sex offender

4/08/16 failure to register as a sex offender

6/14/16 ecstacy and marijuana possession, illegal carrying of weapon

Picture of Alton Sterling with his kids:

This is not a gun enthusiast posing with a gun. This is a gang banger trying to turn his kids onto the exact same path that he clearly was traveling. The proper way to introduce children to firearms is not having them hold hand guns pointed at somebody with a camera and posing like that. it's a wonder he didn't get killed sooner.

    ...

I believe there is not definitive proof of evidence on any angle of video thus far, nor am I qualified to have a meaningful opinion on such matters. But the fact of the matter is he was a felon, sex offender, with multiple illegal firearm charges. Law enforcement was called after he had allegedly threatened somebody with a firearm- which is very probable. I also believe it is probable that more people than not chose not to contact law enforcement in the past between this incident and others he was convicted of. From a totally unbiased standpoint, I think without reasonable doubt that he was a total shitbag, with a spin by the liberal news to push their agenda. Whether the shooting was justified or not, I was not there and have not seen evidence either way. I do believe at this point burden of proof lies dead with his body and fresh new felony charges.

    ...

When entire black neighborhoods rally-around and defend criminality, going so far as to make these thugs heroes, when will this ever, ever come to an end? It never will - we all know this, but for some reason, blacks STILL insist these criminals are good-ole-boys, gentle giants, nice guys who make you laugh, and every other “nice guy” effigy.

Society cannot sustain itself when its members will not take control and disassociate themselves with criminality. Keep embracing it, and it swallows you whole. Then of course, just blame Whitey and all his supremacy and claim you are FORCED into crime to survive, but do nothing to remove the element (black crime and black thuggery) which enslaves you to it all.

Black "culture" is not an excuse, it's a cop-out - don't blame ME for the black dysfunction, and stop blaming poverty for black dysfunction. The black demographic claim they are the poorest of all in America (caused by Whitey's oppression of course) ...but truth is - blacks as a whole, are 3rd in the list of "Poorest". Somehow, all this poverty by Whites and Hispanics doesn't come close to the criminality seen in blacks. The black demographic commit 2/3 of all crime, and as high as 90% of all homicides – and are less than 14% of the population.

US CENSUS BUREAU 2011 ETHNIC BREAKDOWN OF THE POOR IN THE USofA:
    --- White/Non Hispanic 41.5%
    --- Hispanic/Any Race 28.6%
    --- Black/Alone or in combination 25.4%
    --- Asian 4.3%
In 2014, there were actually MORE White Americans in poverty (19.7 million), than members of ANY OTHER GROUP.

    ...

White, black, or rap sheet doesn't matter... He was clearly resisting arrest and trying to free himself from the officers. The officer on top was trying to hold his right arm. You can hear him say he has a gun in his pocket. The 2nd officer then draws his weapon because at that point their lives are in danger. The 2nd officer with gun drawn tells him/ warns him to not move or he will be shot. At that point the man on his back kept reaching for his pocket. Does anyone really believe he was going to get the gun and say here officers? NO - he was struggling to get that gun for one reason only... To use it on the officers attempting to detain him. By law the officer was not required to tell him to not move. Once they realized he had access to a firearm within arms reach they had every right to shoot him to protect them selves at that instance. However the officer gave him another chance by telling him DO NOT move.. Every person on here in that situation would have done the same thing. That man killed himself. By no means was that even close to murder.

Meanwhile as the mainstream media, the Department of Justice and Louisiana officials turn all of their attention to the police shooting death of Alton Sterling, five people were killed across the city of New Orleans in less than six hours. They weren't killed by white cops so nobody cares. Three shooting in the same area of Baton Rouge since the death of Sterling, but all Black/Clack crimes, so no one notices.

Records from the 19th Judicial District Court show that in August 2015 the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for the arrest of an Alton Sterling who had registered as a convicted sex offender to live at the center at the Brookstown address. Sterling was convicted of one count of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in Sept. 2000, according to the warrant.

While Sterling had registered at the address in July, a probation officer who checked on him in August was told by the center manager that Sterling hadn’t lived there for two weeks.

The DA’s office filed a failure to register as a sex offender charge against Sterling in April.

Sterling’s court record shows he was accused of several crimes dating back to 1996. He’d pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, simple criminal damage to property and unauthorized entry, as well as domestic abuse battery. His longest sentence appeared to come in 2009, when he was sentenced to five years on possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute and illegally carrying a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance.

People question why the Alton Sterling criminal history is relevant, because officers couldn’t have known his history at the time.

Alton Sterling’s criminal history is relevant because when the media paints the picture of a gentle giant family man, who would never harm anybody, it’s hard to believe that he would fight with police officers and then reach for a gun to murder them. When you have the facts that Sterling was a violent child molester with a history of illegally carrying firearms, you can see that he is exactly the type of person who might reach for a gun when fighting with officers.

Trucker Being Blamed for Alton Sterling’s Death Shows Just How Ugly Our Social Media Culture Can Get
By Justen Charters (1 hour ago)

On Tuesday evening in Baton Rogue, Louisiana, Alton Sterling was killed outside a food mart in a struggle with police. According to a 911 call, Sterling was armed with a gun and pointed it at a bystander.

After tazing him, the officers, Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake II, shot and killed Sterling. They said their use of deadly force was justified because Sterling was armed with a gun.

Sterling’s death has generated a massive outcry — and even various celebrities have voiced their outrage.

But one celebrity really kicked the hornet’s nest by accusing the wrong person of killing Alton Sterling. The celebrity, Meek Mill, is a best-selling rap artist.

    He posted to Instagram:

I guess this not a thug..... If I say what I really wanted to say I would prolly b arrested! It's crazy that I'm scared to say what I really want say! "Can't fight a silent war with a silencer tho! "Most of these police shouldn't even be in our neighborhoods unless that neighborhood calls for assistance! "Put them white cops in our hoods knowing they races" "setting us up for failure made us rebellious!!!!! THE CRAZIEST THING ABOUT ALL THIS A RETIRED COP TOLD ME 2 DAYS AGO A RACE WAR IS APPROACHING!
But the person in the picture is not one of the officers involved in the shooting of Alton Sterling. He is a trucker named Robert J. Kinnison, and he’s from Michigan.

And while Meek Mill just recently jumped in on this false narrative, Kinnison has been receiving thousands of hate-filled messages and death threats over the last 36 hours.

Kinnison told Independent Journal Review he thinks the lie was started by someone on Twitter who’d gotten in a disagreement with him for being a Donald Trump supporter.

Yet, it isn’t clear how his name spread so rapidly.

On another note Last week Taylor Friloux was murdered at Canes where she was a manager. The POS who stabbed her to death done so because she refused to let them in. Were are all the protest and all the commotion and rioting about this. Where is this poor girls justice???????? Let's set aside this chaos going on in BR. This girl was trying to get her life on the roll by working and going to school to make something of herself. She wanted to make a difference. And guess what You hear NOTHING ABOUT IT. Some repeat offender with a wrap sheet who's been in and out of the system gets shot and you would think the world was coming to an end. Where the hell is peoples priorities at? And people are saying he had loved ones. You don't think this girl had loved ones? This girl had a family too. Loved ones that will miss her and will never see her again co workers, and friends. And she was stabbed to death by a thug.. It makes me sick to see these politicians making themselves to be a hero by making Facebook posts about this Alton fellow. But you hear nothing about Taylor. This has nothing to do with race. So let's not go there. I want this To set on your mind tonight while you go to bed. ‪#‎justicefortaylor‬ ‪#‎alllivesmatter

She was murdered for less then $1000 - divided by five "men".

this is how stupid this all is... The Mall of Louisiana is miles away from the shooting; Juban Crossing in another Parish altogether ... and what does boycotting shopping centers and Walmart have to do with someone being shot?

Boycott expanded to Walmart and Cortana Mall in addition to Mall of Louisiana

Rev. Reginald Pitcher, President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, has the following news release.

"The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the NAACP and the Nation Of Islam have scheduled a Press Conference to announce the call for a Selective Buying Campaign. The Group is calling for all African-Americans and concerned citizens to refrain from shopping at the Mall of Louisiana, Cortana Mall and all Walmart stores from 11:00 AM Friday, July 8th until Sunday, July 10th at 12 midnight, in protest of the killing of Alton Sterling. The press conference will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the front entrance to the Mall of Louisiana."

This differs from the initial the call for boycotts had only specified the Mall of Louisiana.
